Nelson Tours and Travel is a Wine Tour company operating out of Nelson Tasman, owner operator/guide CJ Power believes that his clients deserve only the best experiences. We have always been at the forefront of the tourism industry, which is why we are proud to announce our latest project - the purchase of a technologically advanced Volkswagen Multivan PHEV plug-in hybrid passenger van and an Insta 360 3X Camera & Virtual Tour Kit.

 

 

This van has many features that make it perfect for our clients. For instance, it has transforming seats that face each other for better social interactions, more leg room and easier access for less able-bodied clients, which is really important for us. This simply means our clients will have a much more relaxed, safe and fun experience when travelling with us in our modern & stylish Volkswagon E-Kombi.

 

 

Our mission is to also create and provide a sustainable community transport service for Nelson City. We can get appoximately 45 km of EV charge out of our Volkswagen plug-in hybrid van and would like to support certain events in Nelson City on getting people to the event without using their petrol cars. The highest use of carbon in New Zealand comes from private light vehicles. This is our contribution to significanly reduce emissions for our communtiy.

 

 

We also want to share our passion for Nelson Tasman with the world - and do so in a sustainable way. That's why we are excited to offer Virtual Tours & Live Interactive Tours. Using the incredibly innovative Insta 360 3x, users from around the world can experience the charm of Nelson Tasman or Marlborough vineyards, breweries, food factories, and events without having to travel.

 

We've been working on this since December 2020 with Virtual Journey's NZ. We have made an 18-minute 360 virtual reality film about the Nelson Tasman 2021 Vintage. After that, we made an augmented reality video and made it available by putting QR codes on posters around Nelson. People could view our AR persentation on their phones after scanning the QR code. Virtual Journey's have made an amazing business filmimg tourism activities all around the South Island and are currently filming in Europe. They'll be back in August, while I'm here in Nelson Tasman.

 

Sustainable Virtual Tourism by Nelson Tours. I know it is a relatively new concept for a lot of people, but I can see us doing something that has never been done before in New Zealand.

 

We will eventually get our Volkwagon plug-in hybrid van and make it look really stylish, then film our tours for our customers watching online, we will be using a couple of different and proven platforms where hundreds of people can support us while tuning into these tours over an hour long presentation. We will film ourselves driving through Tasman Bay or Marlborough to our destination in our Volkswagon plug-in hybrid van, then on arrival, we will be met by the owners then taken through a tasting. After the presentation, the viewers are given instructions on how to buy the Nelson Tasman or Marlborough product online.

 

 

At Nelson Tours and Travel, we have always been passionate about sustainability, and we see this project as another step in that direction.
