Help Us Send Our Two Teams To Asia-Pacific Canoe Polo Club Champs

Canoe polo is an action-packed, high-speed game loved and played by people of all ages and ability. We are a long standing club based in the Manawatū that caters for all abilities, we are very proud of the achievements of all our players, but particularly our top teams who've been working incredibly hard, and recently received top NZ club team rankings (1st & 2nd) for the 2023 season.

MKCP (Manawatū Kiwi Canoe Polo) Vikings Black & Valkyries Black top results this season have enabled both teams to qualify for a place, and invite, to the Asia-Pacific Canoe Polo Club Champs, being held in Ningbo, China, in September of this year.

As a club, we believe that sending our teams will not only be an amazing opportunity for them as individuals, but it will also help build on the club aspirations and direction of creating and supporting high performance athletes.

Our players successes are not only felt at club level, but flow through to Canoe Polo as a sport at a national level, as well as Internationally. In 2022, our club made up a large contingent of the NZ teams that travelled overseas.  The NZ teams received phenomenal successes bringing home medals from the World Games, Junior International Championships, and World Championships.

Our club teams have successful international players as well as up and coming players, and we want to support them all to continue to grow to become the best they can be. They get there by training hard, and having the opportunity to challenge themselves and play against the best. 

We are looking for community support in raising the funds required to get our players to Ningbo. A large number of these players are currently carrying upcoming Oceania and World tours costs, so we are looking to gather support to send these two teams at little cost to them.

The trip going ahead is conditional on securing enough sponsorship / pledges to send our teams. Current estimates have this figure sitting around $40,000.

To recognise our supporters, the players and travelling coach will have a squad tee where the sponsors names / logo will be added, (images in the rewards). Larger sponsors logos/names can also be added to the boats stickers.
