We’re on a mission to disrupt the fragrance industry, right here from New Zealand.

The way we consume fragrance hasn't changed in a really long time. Most of us have had an experience of walking into a store looking for a fragrance or cologne and feeling completely confused! Just like wine, it can feel like you don’t know enough to make a decision, or your nose can even stop working after smelling a few options. It's overwhelming, intimidating and completely unrelatable. 

Speak was born from experiencing this frustration ourselves and seeing how data could be used to solve problems. It dawned on us that we could help people find scents they loved, while also making quality fragrance more accessible.

After two years of researching the global fragrance market, developing our unique scent algorithm, hunting down a master perfumer to help us design and formulate our range and convincing a formulation factory to help us bring our vision to life, we’re so excited to give you the chance to pre-order our scents at never to be repeated pieces AND get your hands on limited edition merch!

We never thought we'd reach our minimum target this early in the campaign. Now we really want to shoot for the stars so we've introduced new Stretch Goals! If we reach these goals, we could introduce new products we've been dreaming of, as early as next year! A larger range means an even better matching experience for our customers and a travel range has been requested since we started.

$10,000 will help us introduce a Travel Range in 2023! 

10ml travel range for a quick spritz on the go. Includes a robust travel case - the perfect size for your bag or backpack to keep your bottle looking pristine and easily in reach. 

All backers will receive 50% off their first travel pack when available - a code will be sent directly to backers if we meet this goal. (Designs may differ from what is shown). 

New Goal 2: $20,000 

$20,000 will allow us to introduce two new scents to the range in 2023!

We never thought we'd be able to expand the range this early, but we can with your support! More variety in the range means even better matches for our customers, and more options to grow your scent wardrobe. Help us create even more of the original, gender neutral scents you love, and be able to offer these internationally!  

All backers will receive a free sample of the new scents once available (NZ-wide).

We are super stoked to be so close to launching Speak Scents! But developing fragrance is an expensive business. We need your help to pay for a large formulation order so we can turn our products into reality and bring Speak to the world.

With over 700,000 possible answer combinations, our Scent Profile helps people wade through the confusing jargon to find a scent they love.

Customisable: Each scent can be custom branded by you. Create your own look or embrace your inner minimalist and leave the bottle as is

Gender neutral: We don't believe in gendered smells - you like what you like!

Travel-friendly: A size that you can pop in your bag and mix and match to build your scent wardrobe  

Once the campaign has closed, we’ll send you a link to find your perfect scent match, so you can let us know which fragrance you’d like to receive from your pledge.

How do I chose my scent? 

Speak Scents asks you a few questions to understand your preferences and matches you to the best two scents from our range, using our scent profile - a smart matching algorithm for fragrance. Once the campaign is successful, we’ll send you a link to fill out your profile and be matched to the best two scents for you. You can let us know which of the two you’d prefer, or order both if you selected that reward!

Can I receive more then two scents?

Of course! If you’re after three or four scents, once you’ve filled out your profile, we’ll suggest other scents you may like.

Can I select a scent I want rather than being matched, once the campaign is successful?

Sure can! Our scent profile suggests the best match based on your answers, but if you see something else you’d prefer to try, just let us know and we’ll send the option of your choice. 

How do sample packs work? 

Our sample pack includes two 3ml scents so you can try before you commit to a full sized bottle. Once you’re matched, we’ll send your matches as a sample size.

Will I get my order before Christmas? 

We’ll do our very best to get your orders sent in time for Christmas but we can’t guarantee it and they may be sent in January. We are at the mercy of suppliers and couriers who are very busy at this time of year! 

Will you have different clothing sizes available? 

Our sweatshirts will have a range of male and female sizes available, bucket hats come in one size and our socks will be available in two sizes. We’ll confirm your size preference where applicable once the campaign is successful. 

What colours do the sweatshirts come in?

We have two limited edition designs to choose from - "Heaven Scent" and Smellin Right". Colours are differnet between male and female options:

What colours do the bucket hats come in?

We have just introduced a navy colour way for those not so keen on pink! Both hats are intended to be unisex and are a one size fits all style.

Can I buy Speak Scents merch once the campaign has closed?

We've designed this range of clothing especially for the PledgeMe campaign, as a limited run. These designs won't be available in future so get pledging if you see something you like!

Where can I buy Speak Scents?

For now, get your orders in right here on PedgeMe so you can try the range at never to be repeated pre-sale prices, but once our platform launches to the general public, you can find your match and purchase at speakscents.com.

Where are your scents made?

Our range is designed and bottled in New Zealand, and made in France. We chose to make the scents in France so we could guarantee premium quality in a region that is known for fragrance world-wide. It was also important to us to keep a strong connection to New Zealand, so we have chosen to keep as much of the process here, including formulation and bottling.

When does the platform and range launch to the public?

If the campaign is successsful, we will launch to the general public later this year! This means our matching platform will be live, and we will have different pricing available. But we need your help to get there so get pledging!

Where do rewards ship to?

For now, our campaign rewards include free shipping New Zealand wide only, but if you would like to ship overseas feel free to get in touch and we'll see what we can do.
