Our 9-year old son Kahu is keen to compete in the North Island Kartsport 2022 Championships at the end of October.
This is Kahu's first year driving karts. He and his dad put the kart together in our garage during lockdown last year. This year, Kahu has been competing all around the North Island clubs while learning the sport. He's progressed really quickly, has shown focus and dedication. He is currently third in the Auckland Club points and competing in the Top Half Series. In November Kahu will move into the next age group, so he'd like a chance to compete against the best in his age category before then.
Progressing in Kartsport involves obtaining, communicating and working with sponsors. This project is to help him get to introduced to this aspect. Kahu has written his own proposal, with some input from us. We think it's awesome. Check it out here: https://my.visme.co/view/x4nrywqw-g8nlq7xy9k7e2m9d
In addition to asking for sponsorship, Kahu will be organising a beach clean up as a way of giving back to the community and offering value to his supporters. People will have a chance to support him via sponsorship or by taking part in the beach clean up. See the proposal for details.

Awesome race weekend

Kia ora koutou, we’ve just come back from the North Island Champs and Kahu did great! He drove like a demon all weekend, consistent and clean, and he had some great battles. He took 5th place in the finals, securing a coveted trophy to bring home (top six places got trophies). There were some great drivers on the grid, so he’s really pleased with the result.
Thank you so much for your pledge. Your sponsorship made the weekend possible. I’ll be in touch again after the closing date with your reward.
And please mark your calendar for 10 December, our beach clean up day!
Ka kite whānau.
