About

ReigniteNZ, Supporting Kiwi Made Products And Services

Project 2022-05-10 18:08:14 +1200

Founder, Pete Vinkenvleugel, over the last two years, despite many unforseeable setbacks has invested his life savings into this project. as a pasionate Kiwi with 100% Dutch blood, he is never one to give up, It has been over a decade since we had a national branding icon, to clearly identify the product consumers are considering to buy that has been Kiwi made. The icon your looking at is mark 26. and has taken over 4 months to perfect, It symbolises everything about New Zealand. Indeed Kiwis can fly!!. Pete is ably supported by Wal as a part time IT contractor and many other voluntary contributors.

The whole concept was borne two days into the first Covid lockdown in late March 2020. I recieved a phone call from my  daughter , who has a graphic and website design business. Almost in tears, she let it be known that she had already lost ten percent of her customers and with two hungry mouths to feed and a huge mortgage, she was beside herself. 48 hours later, after thinking long and hard about how I could help her, the light bulb went on. If i could help in some small way, to encourage Kiwis to buy local products and services that could indirectly help her business survive and many others

And thats where ReigniteNZ was born!

80% of any funds donated will be immediatley channelled into promoting the new logo to Kiwi consumers, keeping in mind that the budget for the now almost retired Kiwi made New Zealand campaign, had a yearly promotional budget of 6 million dollars plus. However, with some amazing contacts in the media, the $50k will go most of the way, we hope, to at least making most Kiwis aware that the logo represents Kiwi made. No longer will anyone need to look at the fine print. The remaining 20% will go towards fixed overheads, which are minimal.

From a personal point of view, a successful pledge will improve the well bieng Kiwi consumers and businesses, because at last Kiwis will be able to identify locally made prosucts and services through our very Kiwi iconic logo.

REIGNITE NZ Mission Statement Update. ReigniteNZ was officially registered as a company in May 2020. The sole objective at that time was to reintroduce a NZ national branding logo and slogan to clearly identify Kiwi made products and services as being locally made, as used to be the case with the government funded “Buy NZ Made” campaign. This was killed off approximately 12 years ago. While many local companies do clearly identify their product as NZ made, there are many that do not. The country of origin (NZ) can only be found in the fine print. Given that most New Zealanders prefer to buy locally made products/services, its time to rebrand with a logo eventually all Kiwis will recognise.
