About

Books For School Libraries To Tackle Online Misinformation!

Project 2020-09-22 13:07:33 +1200

Tohatoha is bringing the 'Community' version of the internationally renowned exhibition ‘The Glass House: Misinformation Edition’ to New Zealand's schools and libraries in the coming months to help Kiwi kids learn how to recognise and respond to misinformation online.

Consisting of display boards, interactive apps and animations hosted in school libraries, the exhibit tackles questions like: ‘How do we know if a picture, tweet or video is genuine or truthful? And what can we do if we can’t be sure?’

The exhibition is scheduled to appear in school libraries across New Zealand in two-week periods over the next six months, with accompanying workshops for teachers and librarians.

After the exhibit moves on from each library, we want to leave behind a selection of books that will help students at that school continue their education around this vitally important topic.

We're curating a list of titles to offer to school librarians on this topic, and we want your help to build that list, as well as your support to fund the books!
