About

Operation Orphanage!

Project 2012-11-19 05:07:59 +1300

Hey everyone! So there is this new charity organisation called Every Village and they are mainly working in Nepal to help small and less fortunate villages be better off and live in better conditions.

However, in order to make this happen, we need to get our hands dirty!  This means that we have a whole heap of volunteers (YES this is 100% volunteer based) over into Nepal helping people build new homes, help build water supplies for clean water etc.

Their current project is to build a new orphanage for a minister and his wife who have 21 orphans to look after. These kids come from all different backgrounds, and have ended up with an amazing couple who have huge hearts and want to reach out and help these kids! Currently, the orphanage they are living in is basically falling apart, it isn't efficient or safe for them to live in, and is extremely expensive.

Every Village's goal is get over there by the end of 2012 and start building a new orphanage for these needing people. The cost of this is going to be $60,000 and so far Every Village has managed to raise $13,000. Land has been purchased for the orphanage to be built on and things are almost ready to go!

I dream of a future where children all around can grow up in a safe and carefree environment. A place without poverty and a place where children can just be children, and not need to be the adult of the family at the age of 6.

Please help Every Village to build this orphanage!

Dear Aroha and Erin

Thanks for pledging me ! :) I'm just that little bit closer to my goal which is fantastic !  Sun flowers in your names will be planted tomorrow :)

It would be awesome if you could then share this page around in your social circle's to get the word out? Even if people can't pledge, the more aware people are of this cause, the better publicity Every Village will get and potentially more sponsors etc !

Love,
Maddie xx

Dear Anonymous..

Dear Anonymous,

Thank you for your pledge!
As requested, I have made a rap for you, please excuse the low quality video and editing, my younger sister was holding the camera and it was windy. And she was holding my lyrics ;) great multitasking right there.

But yes, I hope you enjoy!

And thanks again for your pledge, please share this link with your family and friends to get the word out!

Growing a Sunflower

27/11/2012 at 2:46 AM

Dear Fleur Gunn,

Funny that you should choose for me to grow a sunflower, because your name is flower in French. Beautiful :)

I will have the flower planted tonight, and in a week or so when it has sprouted, I'll get a photo up :)

Thanks again for your support! Don't forget to let your friends know about this project!

Maddie, signing out xx

On the other hand, I have just hit the 6 month mark for wearing the 'i am' challenge. 6 MONTHS TO GO!! For those of you who don't know what this is, basically I have to wear the same top for an entire year, and collect sponsors for it, then give it to whatever charity I choose. Every Village is my chosen charity. I've been doing this for 6 months now, 6 more to go!

Thanks Anonymous!
