About

Puberty; The Musical

Project 2019-11-04 09:05:36 +1300

Hello! We are Wellington Young Actors, a diverse group of teenagers aged 12-18 who strive to improve our acting talents and provide entertainment to the Wellington region. We have been creating and performing theatre in wellington since 2014 under the direction of Deborah Rea. We are wanting to put on our 5th original New Zealand Fringe Festival show in 2020. We have been working very hard over the last term to create, devise, design, produce and market our original production of ‘Puberty; the Musical’.

‘Puberty; the Musical’ is going to be a unique experience where we get to express, and you get to experience, the trails a tribulations that coincided with growing up and becoming ‘adults’. All through the median of song and dance! Written entirely by teenagers our show gives a humorously realistic view into an experience everyone can relate to. Wellington Fringe Festival is a celebration of performing art talent in Wellington.

To perform in fringe gives us the opportunity to learn the in’s and out's of running a theatre company and creating and putting on an original show. We are youngest theatre company to ever perform for this festival and we rely on the support and kindness of the community to put on our shows. But in order to get to fringe 2020 our class need your generous donations so we can meet our fundraising goals! All pledges go towards our excess production costs that can't be met by ticket sales; such as costumes, set and marketing as well as songwriting and dance tuition.
