Click the 'reward' you would like, listed down the side.
The amount you must pledge in order to 'earn' a reward is stated above the title of the reward, and what you will receive is written underneath.

Kia ora! Hola! Hello!
I'm Tui. That's me on the left!
The reason I'm here is because I have a dream.
A dream to inspire and teach a new generation of leaders.
I believe that being in the outdoors teaches responsibility and leadership. Through adventure and nature based learning you can learn what you cannot in a classroom. Anyone who has been to Outward Bound, OPC, NOLS, or even gone tramping with a group of mates, will have experienced this.
But not everyone is lucky enough to grow up in a family that is always off camping, tramping, skiing and sailing. For some people, old and young, they haven't truly experienced what it is to get into the great outdoors.
When I was growing up, I remember seeing photos, videos and presentations of beautiful places, some far off, some right on my back doorstep, taken by adventurers of every calibre, some worldwide heroes, some classmates. I remember being totally drawn in, and thinking ‘I want to go there, I want to do that, I want to be like them.”
Those people inspired me, and are the reason I went on to study Outdoor Education.
I want to be that person to other people.
Being on the West Coast and amongst some of the best outdoor instructors in the country and the world, I have experienced amazing places, and learnt so much more than just what has been taught. I have been inspired to go further, to reach for the top, to pass on what I have learnt, and to help others to surpass their own expectations of themselves.
My mission is to be an outdoor instructor with a passion for photography, people and the environment. By combining them, I can do my part in creating a better future for New Zealand and the world.
I want to inspire other people to be better and do better, and I’d like to reach more people than just the ones I will physically instruct myself. Photography is a creative and versatile medium that I can use to do that. Everyone knows a picture paints a thousand words!
So what do I need?
Photography has become a passion, documenting adventures and capturing moments of beauty in the outdoors. I have had great feedback from a variety of different people on my images. The only negative feedback I have received is that I need better gear. Better clarity, more focal range, and much more control over manual functions is what I need to take my photography to the next level, and that is where I want to go. I want photography to be a continual accompaniment to my work and personal adventures.
I've chosen the Canon EOS 7D as a high quality piece of equipment that will serve me well for the future.
This year at graduation I was awarded an amazing opportunity. In May 2013 I will be traveling to the Atacama Desert in Chile. Myself and one of my tutors will be joining a team from Vertical, a Chilean outdoor education company, to facilitate and instruct a course for business school students. I am so excited to get over there. The Atacama desert is the driest place on earth. It is one of the best places on earth for observing the stars, as the skies are always clear, and it is distanced from the light pollution of cities and settlements. It has fascinating sand and rock landscapes, and amazing plants that can survive just on moisture in an occasional fog.
WOW!
I know, right!?
My goal is to have raised enough money to buy a really good camera and associated equipment before I go to Chile. Preferably well before to give me time to practice with it and get used to the new system!!
By helping me out now, you will be directly supporting the success of my talent, and indirectly aiding others in the future. And what's more, you'll even get something cool to keep!!
So what am I getting?
If I raise the full amount by 30th November, YAY and thank you!!
The money will be going towards:
Firstly a camera! Canon EOS 7D :)
Then all the other assorted equipment.
Lenses, memory cards, spare batteries, a tripod, lens filters, a watershed bag/peli case, Lightroom software... the list is endless!
There's a lot to get, and it's not cheap! I'll be pitching in almost everything I earn for the assorted equipment as well, but the camera and a lens are what has to come first, and what this page is about!

And what are you going to get?
All donations (however big or small) will go in the draw to win one of three cool prizes, as well as you getting the reward relevant to the amount you donated!
The three prizes are…
- 2x 2013 calendars (one for yourself and one for a friend!)
- A supercool Aotearoa-style bone carving
- An image of mine in a wooden frame made by me
I'll draw these at the end and let you know the results!
The Rewards!
Cards are handmade by me, with one of my images on the front.
The calendars will be made up especially for you, with one of my images for each month. You can't get these anywhere else!
The carvings will be pendants made by me, and could be inlayed with paua/mother of pearl/pipe stone... any number of things. The main materiel may be bone, ebony, lignum vitae (hardest wood in the world) or another type of wood.
An image of mine on stretched canvas - I'm not sure of the dimensions at present, but rest assured it'll look great on your wall.
Sea Kayaking - I'm working as a guide at Golden Bay Kayaks out at Tata Beach in Golden Bay. As long as you can get there, I'll take you on a personal guided tour.
