Never gonna give you up, never gonna let you down! Time to pledge your support to raise funds for dance artists Jonathan Sinatra, Juliet Shelley and Mariano Ksairi who are collaborating in a few days from now in a Wellington Fringe Festival dance show Blue Eye Green Eye. It's a rare opportunity for audiences to see the work of these performers. They need your help with the costs involved in bringing one of the dancers over from Melbourne and paying for studio hire. This campaign needs your help now to have a fighting chance of succeeding in the short time left. Don't delay. You're the leader here and others will follow when you pledge and show you care. If everyone donates a small amount we'll make it over the finishing line! Don't give up on us!
Jonathan Sinatra is travelling over from Melbourne to perform in the show and we need your help towards the cost of his return airfare to Wellington. Flights are over $700 return and we just don't have that kind of money before the show has even taken place. Jonathan is also teaching a workshop while he's in Wellington and studio hire costs money for that. We're hiring a yoga studio in the centre of town for the shows and we need help paying for that. We're doing everything we can to meet our costs and we need some help from you. It's a quality show and we'd like help from you today so the artists aren't paying from their own pockets to make this festival show happen, as well as perform in it and teach a workshop.
Please pledge your support today for Blue Eye Green Eye.
Choose a reward! Tickets are available to come and see the show, you can take a workshop or class or you can see a demo of some of the work we do here in Wellington.
Pledge today and receive tickets to the show!

The People Behind Hey now, hey now, don't dream it's over! Time to support the artists of Blue Eye Green Eye Show in the Fringe Festival Wellington.

The team for Blue Eye Green Eye: Jonathan Sinatra Juliet Shelley and Mariano Tsiari.
Jonathan Sinatra is based in Melbourne. He's been a dancer with Russell Dumas and Dance Exchange since 2001. Jonathan writes: 'My practice is a daily process of asking unadorned, present tense questions, questions without pre-conceived answers - What is dance? How am I dancing now? What is at the centre of what I am doing? Dancing is essentially a physical thinking practice for me, a mind/body practice, a complex interplay between conception and construction, between self, space and society. My practice is a series of experiential processes explored via my own sensations and thoughts, discovering and building my sense and understanding of ‘body’, of my body in relationship to other bodies and environments. As a dancer, one experiences constant change, constant reminders that the body is a container for habitual patterns, potential developments and biological decay.'
We're excited to have the opportunity to collaborate and dance with Jonathan in Blue Eye Green Eye and to have him come and visit us in Wellington. http://www.russelldumasdance.com/collaborators/jonathan-sinatra/index.html

Juliet Shelley is a dancer choreographer who set up Open Frame Performance in 2012 to research and present performances created and performed using live and pre-set choreographies. She's produced twenty dance shows since moving from Europe to New Zealand in 1994. 'As human beings and as performers, we move between moments of planning and spontaneity, of opaqueness and transparency. How much do we allow ourselves and others to participate in these moments and what do we make of those moments between the known and the unknown? We can pass time in a studio making decisions privately, creating material and we can invite an audience to witness our decisions as we perform. I like to combine both kinds of choreographies in my work, using text, voice, movement and dance. It's a mixture between physical theatre and pure dance.' http://motionbeing.com/

Mariano Tsiari is a dancer who was born in Buenos Aires and who now lives in Wellington. Mariano and Juliet have been dancing together for three years plus and they are performing a contact improvisation duet in Blue Eye Green Eye. 'What I love about contact is that it can applied for many things. It helps you know yourself better in different situations (within contact) with other people. Helps you break those barriers that we build between people. It also helps you to explore your limits, makes you surprise yourself if you can and decide to let go your thoughts. And is funny and interesting because within a dance with other people, you don't know what is going to happen and when and/or if it is going to end.'
Don't miss the chance to help these artists by pledging your support now.
