PledgeMe Roadie: CrowdfundingU In Whangarei (4 November)

Project 2016-09-28 11:51:37 +1300

We're hittin' the road this spring...

Team PledgeMe are road tripping from Wellington to Whangarei this spring. We’re doing this to talk shop in all the regions about how companies and organisations can raise funds to grow through equity crowdfunding and crowdlending.

Earlier this year we started CrowdfundingU, which is a six-session programme to helps companies ready themselves to raise capital through their crowds. Then we did a road trip of the South Island, meeting over 100 founders and doers to chat about crowdfunding. Now, to kick off the spring semester we're hitting the North Island.

There's a catch for us to come to your town...

We’re going where our crowd is, meaning we’ve set a minimum goal in how many tickets we need to sell in your region to order lock in this stop. We need a minimum of 20 tickets sold prior to for us to be able to lock in the venue and travel costs.

What are we going to talk about?...

In this session, we’re going to run you through the background of exactly what crowdfunding is. We’ll outline the similarities and differences between the major types of crowdfunding and identify what each means to you as an entrepreneur (hint: the range is dating — to civil union — to full on marriage).

We'll run over what has worked in the past, and what hasn't, and run through the three most important things to your campaign: your team, your crowd, and your plan.

Tickets are $20 each (the normal session price for this CrowdfundingU session is $150).

The event details are:

  • Venue: The Orchard, level one, corner of Cameron and Walton Street, central Whangarei. Entry is off Walton street.
  • Doors open 3:30pm
  • Event kicks off at 4pm

Super big thanks to the regional sponsor for this event: Hive. Without Vanessa's support, we really couldn’t make this happen.

What can you do?

The first thing you can do is the easiest, buy a ticket (by pledging on the right hand side of this page -->) and join us for the night.

Now, who else do you know who might be interested? Let 'em know by sharing this campaign directly with them (and while you’re at it, you could give us a share on your favourite social media channels!)

Also, are there any specific people we should be connecting with in your town who might be able to help us get the word out? Hit up the comment section below, or flick us an email at [email protected]

Where else are we going?

Our trip is going the length of the North Island - from Wellington to Whangarei! Here are all our stops along the way:

Do you want us to come to your town? Flick us a note and we'll see if we can add a stop for you in.

Thanks so much for pledging to come to our CrowdfundingU session! We can’t wait to meet you.

Super big thanks to the regional sponsor for this event: Hive. Without Vanessa's support, we really couldn’t make this happen.

Since we aren’t funded yet, we need to get over the line to ensure we can come and play with you. To help us get there, we’d love if you could share this event (either to the masses, or direct to people you know might be keen). Any help to get us to your town super appreciated. Here’s the map of the towns we’d love to go to too:

If you know folk in other towns that should get on board, we’d love if you could share with them too. Thanks for helping us to decide where to come, it means the world to us.

Take care,

Anna, Jess, Barry, and Kelsey (aka, the North Island Roadie Class of 2016)
