My name is Joy Adams and I've been involved with the NZ Country Music Scene for many years. I've self funded 15 Albums since 1992 and travelled extensively throughout NZ, Australia, USA and Europe performing at Festivals and Events. I formed my own Promotions Company in 2004 and arranged a 13 Concert Tour in 2005 for Award Winning USA Entertainer KENNY DALE.
Over the years I've done a lot of Fundraising for various organisations and decided to take a leap of faith and set up my own charitable trust to raise money for Charities associated with kids with special needs and severe illness. St John Ambulance will also benefit and the key to this being successful is that the money stays in the area of donation.
As an entertainer, I travel all around NZ and my aim is to talk to/entertain and encourage as many groups, clubs etc. to make a StarPledge of $500. This enables me to support the Charity associated with a Child in your town with special needs and/or illness plus a donation is made to the local branch of St John Ambulance. The Child will also get a very unique gift or treat and I will bring in our own 'Music Star's from around NZ to help me with this.
We now how several concepts to give the child a treat. Options include getting a child involved with music by giving them a musical instrument. Kids love music and I hope to encourage entertainers from all around NZ to present the child with their special treat on behalf of the Trust. We have other options including DVD's/CD's. A ride in a Big Truck or a Hot Rod, A Sterling Silver Star necklace, We can also arrange for a child to 'Adopt A Star' in the night sky.
I have been lucky enough to get a number of people on board offering their support, even to the point of having a lawyer donate his time for free to set it all up because he had faith in the project !! How amazing is that. This in itself has saved us a huge amount of money but we still need money to pay for Logo's, Posters, Banners, information brochures, Website Development, T-Shirts and general expenses with regards to setting up a Trust.
I'm thinking big. I want to take STARBUDDY all around NZ and talk to groups, put on shows, get local entertainers and charities involved and create the 'feel good factor' of making a difference and raising some money.
The Trust will be releasing a Compilation CD soon with 15 amazing entertainers who have donating their music for the project. I need to cover the cost of creating that artwork, pressing of the CD and Apra/Amcos costs. All the proceeds will go to the trust to create more StarPledges. Artists include: Eddie Low, Dennis Marsh, Joy Adams, Patsy Riggir, Kylie Austin, Graeme McCardle, Annette & Kim, Brian Ringrose, Trevor Dawe, Craig Byrne, Annette Hawkins, Kim Copedo, Philip Steans, Trevor V Stevens & Gail Russell.
StarBuddy Charitable Trust is GST registered / incorporated / and is in the process of getting Charitable Status which means that donations over $5.00 can be classed as a Tax Donation.
I ask that you may consider donating any amount from $5.00 to ?????? whatever you feel comfortable with.
There's just three of us on the Team and we plan to keep it personal. We will never get that big that we won't remember to say THANKYOU and how much we appreciate your support.
