Hello Pledgeme People! We need your help to fund the release of our debut E.P!!
Our music is a raw, organic blend of the genres folk, pop and rock, with a distinctly dynamic and emotive sound.
Shannelee and Ryan lead the songs with their voices, moving through lush harmony and unique open tunings, while Jordan holds it all together with his drumming and percussive elements.
We have been working on our debut E.P "An Unfamiliar Sky" since mid-2011, managing, recording, producing and mixing it all ourselves. Everything is now in place for the project to be released...artwork, quotes for cd duplication/cases, live music videos, photography, quotes for mastering...etc etc etc.
All of these things take (and have taken) time and money...something that music students do not have a lot of...and that's why we need your help to get the moohlah we need to make it happen!
We intend to release the album online on pay-what-you-feel basis...which means the music will be essentially free, unless people donate some money when they download...hence why you won't find it as a pledge reward, because as a pledger, you will be able to download it for free when it is released :)
The video above is Shannelee and Ryan performing the first track off of the E.P, "Memories Fade", live and acoustic in an earthquake-damaged water reservoir with amazing natural reverb. Check it out to get an idea of our style and what we sound like.
Our Team
All three of us are studying contemporary music at CPITs Jazz School. Jordan is in his second year and Ryan and Shannelee are in their third year.- Ryan Ferris: Ryan is (for this E.P) the primary songwriter for Motions and Memories. On our first E.P Ryan has recorded acoustic guitar, vocals, bass, percussion and overdubs as well as managing, engineering, producing and mixing the project.
- Shannelee Ray Etches - Shannelee sings in Motions and Memories and has put in many hours on bettering the arrangements and working with vocal harmonies and melodies for the E.P.
- Jordan Wells - Jordan plays drums in Motions and Memories. All the drums you will hear on the E.P were recorded by Jordan on a 3 night recording trip we did back in 2011. Jordan's backing vocals also feature on the E.P.
