Inspired people, new ideas, innovation and exciting performance are the lifeblood of theatre practice in Aotearoa New Zealand. BATS Theatre’s Purpose/Kaupapa is to provide a supportive, professional and accessible theatre venue that fosters the development of practitioners, audiences and New Zealand performance work.
You ain't seen nothing Yeti...
After two successful seasons as part of the NZ International Comedy Fest, everyones favourite Yeti returns to BATS and The Basement this year. Combining the shows I Am Yeti and Yeti is Dead with brand new show Yeti in the Himalayas, Yeti Trilogy is a 2-hour comic odyssey combining outrageous characters, sharp social commentary and a woman in a Yeti costume.
This new show reunites the writing/performing team of Natalie Medlock, Dan Musgrove and Tom Sainsbury with actress Yvette Parsons and director Sophie Roberts. Plus some special guests. One of them may be a puppet.
However, since our last show, Yeti has officially gone on the endangered species list, which is why we need your help! We need a small amount of funding to get these shows off the ground and help us cover:
- travel to and from Wellington for our creative team
- accommodation in Wellington
- printing of promotional posters and flyers
- venue hire
- running repairs to the Yeti costume. Seriously, she needs new eyebrows.
Help us help the Yeti! Coming soon to a theatre near you...
BATS - August 27th-31st @ 7pm (www.bats.co.nz)
Basement - September 3rd-7th @ 7.30pm (www.basementtheatre.co.nz)
