To Go Viking In Moesgard :: Wolin 2013

Who are these people that want my hard earned money, so they can sit on a plane for 40 hours you may ask?
We are asking for pledges of support to assist us in getting over to Moesgard, Denmark, and Wolin, Poland for two weeks in 2013
We are Mike Ker, and John Coutts, we head the Midgard Vikingrs, in New Plymouth, we reenactment all things Viking period related, we promote the safe practice of Western Martial Arts and sword fighting
We teach those who want to learn, the finer detail of Viking culture, the empowerment of women of the time, and which Gods were talked to at the time etc.
Thats me on the left, the Goði (priest of sorts) and Mike, our Styrsman or leader if you will, on the right.
Looking pretty fancy and viking like yes?
We have been invited by the Jomsvikings to attend these events, funding this project will allow us to promote New Zealand Viking period reenactment, and allow us to gain knowledge that is not available on a local level. We are asking for assistance with travel only, as all other expenses are covered by the people who have asked us to attend.Moesgard and Wolin are the locales for events that occur every year, the last weekend of July and the first weekend of August, respectively, they centre around Viking Culture, Viking everyday life, and of course, Viking period combat.

So why are we asking for help?
We lost some expensive gear, and as it turns out, after that article was printed we noticed that some of the leather armour had gone walkabouts also, so we are busy trying to recoup the gear, as we know we are not going to see them again.
We need the gear for events in New Zealand that we are committed to, so cannot putting off replacing it.
We are busy fundraising where we can, and are going to be doing the usual sausage sizzles and have spent a good few days with chainsaw and trailer lopping down pine trees for fund raising,
Any extra funds generated will be held in trust until 2015 to go towards the next time we hope to visit Moesgard and Wolin again.
So check the rewards, pledge your support, enquire about promotional activities etc that we can assist you with in return for pledges, ie; your company name going halfway around the world.
