The Nowhere Effect EP

Please help us record our debut EP.

Having worked extremely hard with countless gigs over the last year, we are now ready to record our debut EP.

You will be supporting a high quality production of our unique sounds. Our music has been described as having elements of atmospheric pop-rock with a touch of darkness. In the short time we have been playing together, our captivating performances have included: opening for Gin Wigmore, playing live on NZ radio, performing for international sports teams as well as numerous shows around New Zealand.

Now with studio time booked for April 21st, we are asking for your support to meet the cost of recording as an unsigned band.

Where does your money go?

Firstly, the studio. Recording time doesn't come cheap and to get a polished, professional sound, a good studio and sound technician is essential. We will be working with Alex Selman at Revolver Studio in Waiuku, Auckland. All tracking and mixing will be done there over the course of a week. Final mastering is the only part of the process that is potentially being done outside of New Zealand.

Design and artwork. We have commissioned local artist Hannah Wilson to produce an original work for the EP. Hannah is a highly talented artist that produces finely detailed work. Alongside this, a local designer will be helping with the EP and website design.

Camera work and edit costs. We want to share this experience with you as best we can. We would like to release a mini doco with the EP that will give you an insight into our time in the studio.

Production. We want to send you a quality package to suit the recording. Printing of CD's and packaging is another costly process and we want you to have something we are proud of.

Are the band paying?

Yes we are. We've been saving since our first paid gig with this goal in mind. Everything we have, plus the amount we hope to raise will cover the above costs with not much room to spare.

Please help support us and all the artists involved in this project.

Remember to tick the reward you want when you pledge.

Thank you,

The Nowhere Effect - Nathan Boston, Shellita Goldsmith, Ewan Gubbins

Thank you all for the huge support so far. It is much appreciated by us all and we are getting excited about getting into the studio soon and producing a polished work to share with you all.

We are adding a couple more private concert packages from our guitarist as these have all gone. The band would be happy to turn any one of these pledges into a private acoustic gig for those that would prefer this option to the solo classical recital by our guitarist. This is also an option for those that have already signed up for this reward.

Thank you all once again for the amazing support.

Shellita, Ewan, Nathan.
