Our names are Jessie & Luke from Bees Up Top. Our journey to beekeeping started when we were looking for a new flat and moved in with a beekeeper! While living in the house we became emerged in bees and now we are rescuing them and rehoming them on the rooftops of Auckland! It's been an awesome journey and it just keeps getting better!
We are on a mission to rescue bees from exterminators because they are on the decline all around the world! Our aim is to rescue and re-home 100 bee colonies starting this Spring through to summer but we need a little help from you.
The hives that the rescue bees go into are expensive and so is their medicine. Each hive cost us $225 to build and $25 each to treat against nasty diseases. That’s a total of twenty-five thousand dollars that we need to raise.
A small pledge will allow us to increase the healthy beehive population in New Zealand! Thank you Jessie, Luke & the bees x
