Applying The Finnishing Touch

Hello everybody. My name is Brendan and a few weeks back I was accepted into the University of the Arts Helsinki - Academy of Fine Arts as a student in their Masters programme. This is a pretty overwhelming experience for me to be embarking on because it means I have to move to the other side of the world for at least a couple of years. I fly out late August to start in September.

Finland has an amazing reputation for its higher learning institutions and I feel pretty honoured to have been selected out of 300-odd applicants to be 1 of 8 in the Masters programme for painting.  This experience will not only help me become a better artist, but will also assist me in being able to become a more effective lecturer / arts educator.  I am motivated to help others on their journey to being artists, discovering and developing an understanding of the world of Fine Arts. 

This is where I need your help! I am seeking support to enable me to buy materials so I can make some work. Basically I’ve sorted a place to stay and most of my living costs but Finland ain’t cheap and paint and wood is what I need so I can generate some work during the course.

My goal is $2500+ and I am aiming to achieve that by the 16^th of August. I have some of my own work up for rewards, which you can see by friending me on facebook at https://www.facebook.com/BMoran555 and looking at some photos. For those pledging for paintings, they will be arranged by size and distributed as a lucky dip scenario.

Don’t forget Pledgeme is an 'all-or-nothing' model, so I need to reach my funding goal before my deadline to receive any money pledged.
