From humble
beginnings, Bayley’s family arrived in New Zealand as refugees with no english, only the
clothes on their backs and little personal possessions.
What they had was lost over board when their boat was sinking fleeing their homeland, Vietnam.
Bayley grew up
with a pencil in his hand and an imagination that would take him off to far
away places.
Recently he has used landscaping to express his creativity. His recent display
at Ellerslie International Flower Show has made an impression in the gardening and landscape design circle.
His design, inspired by the traditional Kiwi bach titled
‘The Native shower’ has been
selected to showcase at this years Hampton Court Palace Flower Show in London.
Bayley has an opportunity to represent Aotearoa the world stage and compete
with the very best.
He is the only designer representing
New Zealand and honored with the task.
But he can’t do this alone. With your pledge we can make this happen and take a piece
of Aotearoa to the world.
We invite you on this amazing journey. Together, anything is possible.
Thank you for your time.
Meet my mum, Ha Luu. She was with me every step of my journey at Ellerslie International Flower Show this year. I couldn't have done it without her. With your support and pledges you can make it possible for her to continue this our journey to Hampton Court Palace.
Bayley and some of the kids from Raumati South school at EIFS 2013 who won People's choice award and Silver.
Hi. My
name is Bayley LuuTomes and I’m a Horticulture student from the Wellington Open
Polytechnic.
Last month I was named Young emerging deigner of the year at Ellerslie
International Flower show in Christchurch. My design ‘Living Art’ was awarded
with double gold.
I have an
opportunity to represent New Zealand on a world stage and compete with the very
best.
I am the only designer representing New Zealand and honored with the task.
But I can’t do this alone. Your pledge will help with our cost to show in London.
The cost associated with the build is $28,000.00 NZD. This doesn't included flights or accommodation. When we get over there, 14,000 pounds need to go a long way. This money will be use to buy plants, material, pay for trades labour, building work and connection to our site.
If you would like to be a part of this show you can sponsor a recycled glass bottle that will be used in the show. You will have your name and option to have a message with your bottle.
Larger pledges over $1,000 will received a complementary landscape design on a standard front or back yard on my return valid for 12 months.
For a chance to see your message on TV or a magazine you can pledge for a message to be written in the sand around the exhibit for one day of the show. (Only six available. Please keep it under ten words) I can take a photo and frame it on our return.
