About 1 year ago my very close friend Simbarashe Tembo and myself decided to join forces and combine our shared passion for Men’s Mental Health to help create a solution to one of the biggest problems facing families today. We did this by creating the first Mentenance Conference in October of 2022. The event was and is still built around creating a platform where Men build, encourage, inspire, and educate other Men. (with a huge emphasis on Mental Health) 

This year we need a little help expanding the vision. What is the vision you may ask?

Men come in all shapes, sizes, multiple diverse backgrounds, and all sorts of diverse lifestyles. One thing we all have in common is movement.

We are Fathers, Husbands, Sons, Brothers, Friends, Entrepreneurs and Employees. Because we “have to be” so much all the time, most men are in constant motion. For an abundance of motion, you should have an abundance of maintenance. Sadly, this is not the case. The worldwide statistics do not lie, men are not maintaining themselves enough to match the daily pressures that life presents them. When in reality all it takes is a little “maintenance on the mind” to prevent a “breakdown.”

My name is Myron Turner, better mental health is a huge part of what I stand for due to my own personal battles that I have had over the years. (specifically, men’s mental health) As men what we usually do is “do all” and “be all” for our families and everyone else until we just “can’t do” anymore. This is why I wanted to create a network to help other men like me who just need a little “bit” of maintenance along the way.

Overview:

The Mentenance Network will function as a holistic conglomerate of education, empowerment, and community eventually expanding into several chapters around the world.

Purpose:

The Mentenance online network and live community events will exist to serve the purpose of restoring, repairing, and rebuilding the spirit, mind, and body of men.

Vision:

The long-term vison entails creating a Global Community of Mentally, Emotionally, and Physically Stable Men. Mission: Provide an accessible infrastructure via live and online events that cater to all men at all phases of a man’s life.

Why We Need Funding:

We hosted our first Mentenance Conference last year at a local venue. However, that was proven to be extremely costly as it was mostly self-funded by only the two of us. We know that this year may prove to be even more expensive, having to consider the expected cost of hosting a larger amount of people. (Even though it is online this year)

About Us:

Officially my “team” is quite small. Considering the fact that it’s just Simba and myself for now. What we have managed to do is Register and Incorporate a Trust called “The Better 2 Best Life Trust”. Our Trust is in the final stages of becoming a fully registered charitable organisation in New Zealand. One of the primary purposes of the Trust is to fund Private Mental Health Aid that is usually too expensive for those who may actually need it.

> Guest Speaker Fees 

> Promotional Material & Merchandise 

> CRM costings 

> Webinar gear (Lights, Cameras, and Microphones)

This event is the "flagship" event for other Mental Health focused media that we plan to produce and distribute heading into 2024.
