The documentary follows Paul Smith’s journey after he experiences the loss of his brother, giving him a lot of depression. He is involved in a serious car crash where he is left in a serious condition where he struggles to do basic human functions like walking and speaking. Because of this, he must see a therapist to help with his healing process. But it was through his healing process when his therapist recommended bodybuilding to help advance his healing process. Through this, Paul found a new love for bodybuilding and began to train at the gym for several weeks. Because of this training, he overcame his depression and fixed up his body to its original state. After going through this experience, Paul continues to go to the gym to this day but wants others to understand that there is always hope and the importance of mental health, so he would go to high schools and tell them his journey.
Our team mainly consists of myself (Fatema Al-kashri) as the producer of the film and (Alexander Mildenhall) as the Director. However, this project is much bigger than just two of us. We have recruited the help of Anastasia Zaikina (Camera), Drew Welsh (Sound), Jordan (Lighting) and Christina (executive producer).
We are all third-year university students; besides Christina, we are looking to graduate with a degree in communications at the end of the year.
The money we raise will go towards:
Transportation: gas and travel funds to and from our locations.
Advertisements: promotional material of the film (Posters).
Food and drinks: we need to feed our crew and actors.
Most of the physical film equipment will be provided to us by our university, AUT.
Any donation, big or small, is greatly appreciated and plays a huge part in helping us fulfil our goal of making The Strongest Soul a success!!
