Help us open our door to the community!
The Dunedin Curtain Bank's current premises is in desperate need of a back door and we do not have the funds available to make it happen!
Currently, we are using a large piece of wood to block the space where the door once belonged, before it rotted away. If this door is installed, we will be able to utilise the back area behind our building in order to more efficiently wash and dry the donated curtains. This will enable us to prepare them to be supplied to needy families across the city.
We are seeking funds to help us improve our quality of service and allow us to utilise our premises to its full extent by replacing the back door. Any help would be gratefully received!
The Dunedin Curtain Bank is a not-for-profit charity organisation, determined to help Dunedin citizens through the winter by providing thermally-insulated curtains, free of charge, to low-income families. We rely completely on donations from generous members of the community, for both the curtains we supply as well as the money needed for rent and building maintenance.

Works Underway
16/07/2013 at 6:02 AM
Work is underway on getting the door installed. The builder was horrified when he saw the condition of the existing one. He is making up a frame now and will get it in over the next couple of weeks. We need to keep raising the money to pay for the work he is doing and the materials he needs. If we don't get the remaining $475 then we will have to dip in other funding to pay for it.
