Comments from our audiences:  "Spell binding".  "Adorable".  "Unique".  "Bliss".  "Beautiful harmonies".  "Quite unlike anything I have heard before". "Mesmerizing".  "It feels good".  "I feel the love!".   "Medicine for our times."

Frequently asked questions...

#1. Where do you get those hats?!  #2. Do you have a CD? Affirming to us the importance of carrying out our MudWood mission.  Which brings us to step one: To record our first album and share it with the world. Step two: to hat the world ( a whole other story).

MudWood is ready to record our debut album, "Bliss". This album will feature original songs by MudWood, which have been performed in front of various appreciative audiences since their inception at the beginning of 2013. MudWood music crosses many genres and touches audiences of all ages in all walks of life. These songs feature sublime vocal harmonies, soulful strings, and sensitive percussion. The lyrics are inspiring medicine for our times. Feel the love!

Our goal is to have the album recorded in the end of October and have the process finished and ready for a Solstice release on the 21st of December.  All possible.

MudWood has spent great time researching different options relating to the recording process. We have done test recordings with different engineers and equipment. We have tested different microphones and instruments, always trying to find the sound most pure and true.  We soon realized that the best option would be for us to have our own recording equipment. Calling in professional song catchers to press the buttons and capture the magic.

We have found the equipment that most suits our sound and particular needs!  Having our own equipment would also allow us to record more Mudwood albums, already ready and waiting. By donating to MudWood you will be helping create a whole world of MudWood music and song, which we can share with the world!

The money we are raising will fund the purchase of specific equipment for MudWood recordings,as well as a budget for engineering, mixing and mastering; the designing of album cover and insert, and the first run of printing at the CD press.

All donations will be so greatly appreciated!  Please share with your friends and help us create MudWood magic.  We have worked and played hard and are continuing to do so to make this all possible.  We acknowledge the need for outside contributions and humbly ask you to help us make this all possible!  Thanks and gratitude.

  About MudWood:

MudWood is a representation and reflection of Harmony and Love.

The Mud and the Wood meet with Amira Mudfaery Nadira and Jo Barlow Wood. Vocal harmonies weave together like locks of fleece in Felt to create a rich fabric of almost tactile quality. These harmonies dress a body of warm strings of harp and guitar. The beating heart is the Udu, an African clay pot drum. Other percussions and instruments flow in and out.  The whole being, living breathing and singing is MudWood, an expression of love of self, each other, and this beautiful fragile world we share. Sound scapes change with the diversity of instruments, moods and genres MudWood play. Our music is time old in origins but ever-present and relevant in our constantly changing, spinning world. Beautiful and unique vocal harmonies, enchanting guitar and harp, warm and earthy hand percussion and other bits and pieces. Coupled with powerful song writing and meaningful lyrics, MudWood is a wonderful duo of diversity, world sounds, original songs, and creative music. Jo and Amira are partnered together in harmony in life and in music, spreading the love of both around the globe.

  * Jo Barlow was born in the land of song. He has never left. A true Bard, Jo's music has touched many with its honesty, warmth, and depth. With a voice both tender and strong and nimble fingers, Jo has wowed audiences with his sincere vocals and delicate guitar playing. His songs have reached deep into the hearts and souls of listeners.

  * Amira Mudfaery has a voice which echoes from other worlds; deep with soul and alive with zest and passion. Truly unique and mesmerizing, her music has been shared with many far and wide. Amira's Harp playing is intuitive and flows like the sweet nectar of the Flooflefloss tree. Her passion for ancient music influences her resonant rhythms played through Udu, Darbuka, and other hand drums.
