Becoming A Google Certified Teacher!

I have been accepted to attend a Google Teacher's Academy in May over in Sydney. This is  to become a Google Certified Teacher which will enable me to better extend my knowledge of Google Apps for Education to better support students in one of the lowest socio-economic areas in New Zealand. I am really passionate about education, and about bringing education into the 21st Century for all learners, not just the wealthier students. Every child deserves all of the opportunities that can be given to them, and they all deserve to succeed and gain worthwhile employment, especially the students in the poorer areas, to help break the poverty cycle that exists in these areas.

My students are already using Google Apps for Education, but I want to make sure my skills can be utilised across our cluster (http://manaiakalani.org). I am also hoping that the model we have implemented can be taken into other low decile areas eventually. I would like to be at the forefront of any movement of this nature, and this training will help.
My school are allowing me to use some time off I had put aside for another project (meaning I will have to use my own time for the other project, or not get paid), but are not making any contribution towards transport or accommodation leaving me to find the funding for this myself. I am looking for help with transport and accommodation as I cannot afford to make this happen without some help. My students deserve this, and I would love your help to make it happen!
