About

Right Dishonourable: A New Musical

Project 2013-03-06 08:31:32 +1300

When a sex scandal forces the Prime Minister of Freedonia and his entire Cabinet to step down, the country is launched into a media frenzy. Competing for the top job is a liberal leader waiting for his big chance, an inexperienced young conservative and a man with a gumboot on his head. Throw in a band of squabbling fringe parties, a conniving dominatrix and the twisted sensationalism of the media and the three-week snap election will be anything but an honourable affair…

Red Scare Collective is a new theatre company formed by Cassandra Tse and Bruno Shirley. Our new musical satire, RIGHT DISHONOURABLE, takes on politics, sex and media sensationalism in a form we call 'polisexsationalism' (see what we did there?). It features cucumbers, ponies and "drag night at the Copacabana".

It will premiere at the Gryphon Theatre from the 16th to 27th of July. We're looking for financial support to realise the show to its full extent, with money going towards costume purchase, hire of rehearsal spaces and venue, set construction, marketing and all those other little costs that seem to add up over the course of the show. We have a budget of $4000 for the show, and are hoping to raise $1000 of this through PledgeMe. (The other $80 covers our PledgeMe budget!)

So go ahead and support our project!
