BombayBeat:BollywoodHeat

Project 2013-03-01 00:37:15 +1300

We are a Bollywood dance school based in Auckland. We teach Bollywood dance to over 80 students. At the end we put on a full scale dance, drama production. This year we are producing the world's first Bollywood 360degree show called Bombay Beat: Bollywood Heat.

The show is a Bollywood love story where the protagonist loses his father in an accident and has to deal with that loss and the love of his dance and a new love. Filled with regrets and hate or love and hope. Music, dance and acting combine to work seamlessly and take the audience on a magnificent emotional ride.

Our aim is to challenge the children to think big and achieve greatness. This is where you come in. We have a $100,000 production for which we are looking for some generosity from the wonderful people of Aotearoa. The $3000 we require is for local advertising so that we can get people to come and watch this extravaganza. There is nothing more rewarding for the kids than seeing a full house at their show. We are a committee of 10 and we organise and coordinate all the dancing, acting and stage requirements. Indiance has been performing since 2004 and has won numerous Bollywood dance competitions.

Rahul the Director has a degree from Auckland University in Drama and film and currently works at SKY TV. He has been in numerous shows and musicals. All the other members are all graduates or undergrads that volunteer their time, sometimes up to 30 hours a week. They write the script, find the music, choreograph the dances, design the costumes, coordinate all technical requirements and create the set design.
