Introducing Battle Brew Company Founder – Mark Richards

Having served as a police officer, worked as a bar manager, and spent the majority of my career in the security industry, I've always been drawn to high-energy environments and the thrill of the unexpected. But amidst the chaos and excitement, I found solace in the simple pleasures - travel, running, swimming  and, surprisingly, tea. My journey into the world of tea began when I realised there was a void in the market that resonated with me as a consumer. Despite my passion for adventure, the outdoors, and the blue-collar spirit, I couldn't find a tea brand that truly spoke to these values. It was this realisation that sparked the idea for Battle Brew Company.

 

About the Battle Brew Company Brand

While the coffee and beer market saw a revolution with small brand breweries introducing fun, excitement, and a grungy feel, the same could not be said for tea. I saw an opportunity to disrupt the tea industry by infusing it with the same energy and excitement that has transformed the coffee and beer market. The continuous growth of the tea market suggests a demand for innovation, and Battle Brew Co. is poised to be the force that brings about that change. Our brand is not just about tea; it's a celebration of the bold spirit that defines the adventure seekers, the outdoor enthusiasts, and the hardworking individuals who fuel our society. Battle Brew Co. is not just a beverage; it's an experience, a journey waiting to be explored.


As a fellow Kiwi, I am constantly inspired by the stories of our local entrepreneurs who started from humble beginnings and have become global icons in their respective industries. From the indomitable success of companies like Xero, 42 Below, and Icebreaker, to the creative genius of filmmakers like Peter Jackson and Taika Waititi, our small Island has proven time and again that we possess the power to conquer the world stage.

 

But what sets Battle Brew Co apart from the rest? It is our unwavering belief that even during times of uncertainty and global challenges, there is always room for innovation and the emergence of new international brands right here in New Zealand. Battle Brew Co is not just another tea brand; it is an embodiment of the Kiwi spirit, an ode to adventure, and a rallying call to those who dare to dream.

 

We envision Battle Brew Co as a catalyst for exploration and a symbol of the limitless possibilities that lie ahead. Our mission is to create a range of premium products that not only fuel your adventurous spirit but also empower you to embark on your own remarkable journeys. From energising beverages to carefully curated products, each Battle Brew Co product will be infused with the essence of adventure, encouraging everyone to embrace the unknown and discover their true potential.

 

Why are we crowdfunding?

Once we have recieved the amount we are trying to raise, our nexts steps will be; 

1. Complete our website and online store. 

2. Bring in the first shipment of stock. 

3. Send out our thank you notes, discount codes, t-shirts and tea samples to the amazing people who supported this brand get off the ground! 

4. Social media campaign. 

5. Introduce a new Kiwi brand to the world!

Battle Brew Company will focus on the use of three social media platforms, TikTok, Instagram and X. Each platform has a mixture of audiences which has the potential of exposing the brand to over a billion uses. The target countries of New Zealand, Australia and the USA have a large social media audience of outdoor and adventure seeking enthusiasts. Battle Brew Company will focus on developing an organic audience but there are plans to use Micro-influencers in New Zealand, Australia and the USA to reach and grow a loyal following.

 

Battle Brew Co. is using @battlebrewCo on all three platforms. The images and types of content will differ to capture different audiences. Instagram will show our brand and journey. X will consist of a mixture of professional images, posts but also some memes and more comedic posts. TikTok will be video content.
