A Street light circus :

A giant ladder, strength and movement, creating encapsulating imagery, it's all part of the day for this circus of environmental exposure.  A gallery of ideas is being finely tuned to symbolically reference the world within which we all find ourselves; in and out of context.  Here is your chance to be part of creating a contemporary multi-media installation, a scandalous circus - right in the centre of town.

Cuba Mall, or; The Octagon; March 2012 : it's starting to getting dark, a pair of performers are engaged in an elaborate warm up amidst a scenic street art installation, and you realise you're in it too.  This is the street as you've not seen it before.  This is live cartooning, a circus, a theatre, a series of skits; a tribute to street art and a counteraction to an all encompassing onslaught of urban mass media.  In a moment flagged by public reclamation and signed by the artists with possessed dedication, the street lamp sheds light on signs right in front of our eyes.

In and Out of Context team :

Tanya Drewery is dearly loved in New Zealand's neo-burlesque and circus scenes and appreciated for her great contribution to both as the breathtaking Magenta Diamond.  Tans has over a decade of featuring in top national and international performances along with producing, writing, creative directing, receiving various awards and many other things.  Now she brings us her wonderful talent and masterful skill as performer and circus director of In and Out of Context.

Phoebe Smith goes from award winning script writer, actress, and director to drama teacher, comedienne and author.  Her experience has led us to approach a highly contemporary performance in a fashion which will satisfy even the most traditional of theatre and comedy lovers.

Gibbo, or Andrew Gibson, can make any tricky situation sound achievable - and then make it happen!  Wearable Arts, The New Zealand Circus Festival and headlining international acts; here his top production rigging experience is being put to a slightly more peculiar but no less spectacular use in an aerial street scene.

Maria Dabrowska is renowned for creating beautiful, thought provoking and often astonishing performance. An impressive repertoire including Carnival Hound and Monster Burlesque; she's an award winning creator, dancer and choreographer and I still can't quite believe we have Maria's assistance in choreographing a movement and dance piece within the show.

I, Cally O'Neill, it would appear have more than a little luck finding myself as part of this incredible team.  With a history in music, street performance, circus, architecture, art and a passion for positive action! - we are designing a little lampoonery around some technical nuances that leave devastation in the wake of a culture and can be so easily overlooked.

A huge thanks to all involved in Fringe and to the councils for their support.  Here is a chance to create free public art and we are so grateful of the opportunity!  Of course koha is always appreciated, and there's no producing a show for free.  By helping us reach our pledge you are part of this production, a philanthropist and producer.  The more we can raise the closer we get to the potential.  This is the beginning, there are no limits, just the fortune of wonderful talent ready to put together a piece of art which is all about you, us, the spaces we inhabit and seeking great experience.  It's action, passion and full of hope.  Save us from selling our assets!  A small amount from each of you now will go a long way.  We will be so thankful and aspire to making sure you are too.

Oh, and of course there's the awesome rewards we have to offer..  we want to share them with you all!  Please take a look. (*note the 'Animisses' featured in the above photo)

More thanks to a vital few who've led the way; The Wellington Circus Trust, Fuse Circus and Awkward Productions, Deb, Alice and Tom you are so great.  Of course I must mention The Magenta Diamond, shining away.

Now the rest of you - go forth and add your names to this list!  Thanks for your time and consideration.
