"Closed Eyes" is a coming of age Drama about a blind girl seeking independence. Kyra (Rhema Sutherland) is a blind teenager who wants to discover life on her own. Her older sister Erin (Astra McLaren) is against the idea of her sister leaving and becomes a barrier between Kyra and her chance at life and independence. Its not until Kyra meets Ethan (Niwa Whatuira) a young musician, does Erin realise just how weak her hold on her sister is.
Our film was made as a final project at South Seas Film and Television School and is now ready for festival release. This short film was made as a no budget film and the crew consisted of only South Seas students.
We are seeking financial support in getting 'Closed Eyes' into film festivals around the world. The money we raise will go towards paying for the various entry fees and the cost of printing and shipping the DVD's to Film Festivals. 'Closed Eyes' is the first of many films we hope to make. We would love any support we can get to help put our film out there and make it a success.
