Kōwhai Fan Fest 2022 - The Bigger The Better!

KFF is a volunteer-run, community-centric expo-style event celebrating cosplay, art, performance, and more. After a successful inaugural event in 2021, we are back with bigger and better plans for 2022. The following are our overarching goals for the event:

• Promote local talent, businesses and beautiful Christchurch City
• Champion inclusivity, represent the diversity in our community and maintain low barriers to entry
• Grow our community, inspire our attendees, and help fans from all walks of life make real connections

We have been fundraising over the last 6 months and nearly raised a deposit for our preferred venue - and we need just a little more of a push before we can launch our 2022 event.

• Bigger venue: With our preferred venue, we can boost the capacity of our event at least 5x from 2021.
• More space and more options for vendors: more space means that we have more flexibility in the types and sizes of spaces we can offer vendors, with great traffic movement around the facility.
• Production values! Our preferred venue has a really well equipped AV and lighting setup, for our performers to really shine on stage!
• Afterparty: a highly requested addition! Has it been too long since you tore up the dancefloor between Yami Yugi and Lara Croft? Me too. (Note: we cannot guarantee a Yami Yugi or a Lara Croft. But you can.)

We have tiers for everyone! Our top 4 tiers to the right will grant you ENTRY to our main event (think of it as your early bird Ticket!). Our bottom tiers are for Vendors, businesses and those who want to sponsor our event.

Come along to the first Official KFF After Party! If our Pledgeme reaches $4,500 we will even create a unique cocktail (and mocktail) for our After Party guests to enjoy!

VIP Fan $30

Sore feet? Need to dump a prop? Head on up to our exclusive haven, the Exclusive Cosplay Lounge. We’ll have staff there keeping an eye on things so you can dump your bag, jacket, master sword and have a breather from the craziness that is con-day.

Big Supporter $100

• Sponsor a stage segment with audience participation such as the Cosplay Competition, Cosplay Parade or a game with the audience!

• 1x Dedicated Social Media Post (Not limited to businesses, but some online or offline presence would be ideal)

Principal Sponsor $400

• A Principal Sponsor Booth (3x3m including 2x display walls)
• Your Name or Logo will also be included on Marketing materials, website and on-stage
• 2x Dedicated Social Media Posts (Not limited to businesses, but some online or offline presence would be ideal)

Naming Rights $3000

• Be the major Kōwhai Fan Fest 2022 Sponsor! Take your pick from “The <your brand here> Kōwhai Fan Fest”, “<your brand here> presents Kōwhai Fan Fest, or come up with your own. (Note: brand must be family friendly, if you’re not sure, dm us first)
• A Sponsor Booth (3x3m including 2x display walls)
• Your Name or Logo will also be included on Marketing materials, website and on-stage
• 3x Dedicated Social Media Posts -static (Not limited to businesses, but some online or offline presence would be ideal)
• 1x Dedicatd Video Post on our Social Media in the lead up to the event

$2950 reflects the minimum amount needed to secure our dream venue.

At $3500 we can flesh out 2 sets for photographs that attendees can use at the event.

At $4500 we will create a wonderful KFF cocktail (and mocktail) to be served at the after party.

The early sell-out of KFF21 gives us a mandate to grow. The support of our amazing community so far has emboldened us to believe we can, so our vision for 2022 is ambitious. However, if we don’t meet our fundraising goal, we will still deliver an event, after we go back to the drawing board and rethink the scale.

We are on the hunt for the following!

• Cosplayers to attend - obviously!
• A team of volunteers to help plan and co-ordinate the event on the day
• Photographers and videographers to capture every moment
• Passionate speakers, panelists and workshop leaders in the industry (design, arts, gaming, photography)
• Performers of any kind
• Artists, makers, and creators of nerdy goods to table in our mini artist alley
• Local businesses who want to showcase at the event
• And your ideas!

PLEASE NOTE: Payments will be taken from your chosen payment method if and when the Pledgeme concludes with the minimum amount met. Please do not pledge or donate if you do not have the funds to do so as this puts undue pressure on us.
