Fuyuko's Fables

Project 2012-02-08 08:34:46 +1300

We've managed to make it to our target thanks so much to everyone who has pledged so far.
We still need anything we can get our hands on so anything past this point will still be very much appreciated and put towards making the e.p. as good as we can possibly make it.
We go into the studio next week!
Thaks so much!

We are:

Fuyuko's Fables (Scott Maynard, Jeremy Hunter, Al Green, Matt Maynard and Mike Isaacs) We are a folk(ish) band from Wellington, New Zealand. We have been playing around in Wellington for the last couple of years and have had the honour and privilege of playing with some great New Zealand bands including Seth Frightening, Urbantramper, Glass Vaults and City Oh sigh as well as recently opening  two shows for Shenandoah Davis from Seattle.
We have one e.p. already which you can download for free (or pay what you would like) here.

What we are trying to do:

Record, Mix, Master, Print and promote our new e.p.

We are part way through recording our new e.p. at the wonderful Munki Studios. We have almost all of the recording done apart from the last few bits and pieces but recording is a long process and involves many more steps and costs.
We still need to;

 -Mix and master the recordings
-Get all the artwork and cover designed and finished
-Print the e.p.
-Promote and sell the e.p.

The recordings are sounding great but we need to spend a lot of time on the mixing and we believe the more time (and unfortunately therefore money) we spend on mixing and mastering the better it will sound. We have a chance to turn this e.p. into something really special but there are lots of ongoing cost and any small amount will help enormously. Not to mention earn you our endless and undying gratitude.

The $2000 we are aiming for will just cover our minimum to take sure this project is at least finished and released out into the world anything above will go towards making it that extra special recording we hope it can become.
If you want to donate anything extra above the target you can also do it through our bandcamp or email us at [email protected]

What we have done:

We have our first e.p. here as mentioned before, and some more live clips and recordings here.

Becky Routley

Is a friend and incredibly talented artist who kindly donated all her art she had done for a University project to us to use on our last e.p. and is also in the midst of drafting up artwork for the new e.p. which you can purchase for rewards at a one off bargain price.

Munki Studios

Is the very, very fine studio where we are recording and mixing our e.p. full of talented people and fantastic gear, even a foosball table.

Press for the old e.p.

"The best debut e.p. of 2011"  - Einstein Music Journal

8.0 out of 10
"Fuyuko’s Fables, a band that creates dreamy folk compositions with the combination of well arranged instrumentation and harmonious vocals." - In B4 Track

"This is a band that, whatever inevitable success may come their way in the future, seem content with their very strong musical formula.  The quiet brilliance of their songs comes from their modesty, and when you listen to the EP, you in turn are likely to be quietly blown away." - Broken Record NZ

" The EP itself is a delight, and touches on the Phoenix Foundation and Fleet Foxes en route to Fuyuko’s Fables’ own particular brand of satisfying folk pop." - Salient

" The first time I heard Fuyuko’s Fables self-titled album my reaction was one of disbelief: “why have I not heard of this band before?” It seems the Wellington music scene is capable of hiding gems. The best way I can describe this band is as being “other worldly” " - NZ Music View

Got to our target! thanks so much everyone its all very much appreciated. We still have a few days so if anyone wants to pledge more the money it will be put to good use. 2000 is the bare minimum we need. Anything above would be awesome and will be put towards the mixing and making the e.p.as good as we possibly can.
Many many thanks again
