Frisky is a 15 minute short film that follows Mick, a reclusive farmer, and Anne, a gender queer 'city-goer' as they are brought together by a cheeky sheep. We see their relationship evolve over the course of the film as Mick learns the importance of vulnerability and to ask for help. Unfortunately due to the second Covid lockdown, we were stopped 2 days into production last year and couldn't complete our film. However as a strong, creative and resilient group of upcoming film-makers we problem solved and made a short documentary about the struggles of film-making during a pandemic.
It is the start of a new year and we have decided that our film is too good to not make. We had great support from our tutors at Massey University Wellington and many of them consider our film script one of the best to come out of our year. We lost a chunk of money trying to get our crew back home safely for the second lock down, and unfortunately one of our actors moved to the UK so we will have to reshoot the film again. Because of this we need your help to get the ball rolling again. We hope to raise another $700 to help pay for travel, food and talented actors to bring this beautiful story to life. This is a true to life story, the director has taken inspiration from their own background on a farm as a gender queer individual.
