We are Chris and Julia and a group of environmentally and spiritually conscious people from all round the world who want to create a special place in New Zealand. Chris is a sailor and since 2007 the CEO of a Charity called OceansWatch and since 2014 Julia has been involved in managing a Community and Holistic Education Centre in Greece. Julia was impressed by the sense of community that was created in the Findhorn inspired Kalikalos Communities in the beautiful Pelion region of Greece and as New Zealand has a similar climate and beautiful beaches she has been inspired to create the Kalikapai Centre in Northland.

Julia and Chris are passionate about offering to bring to fruition such a Centre here in New Zealand. They do not want to do this alone and have been building a group of people with amazing skills with the intention of a permanent community, regular volunteers, small festivals and high creative energy to manifest individual dreams. Their vision of a vibrant community running transformational educational workshops and holiday retreats fits with their intent of bringing greater wellbeing and peace to the planet by helping people learn to live together with their differences.

The tools that will be offered to empower people to be themselves and honour and accept others as they are, include regular meditation, yoga, sharing circles, working together as love in action, regular eating together, honouring spirit and making daily time for fun and relaxation. Including sailing, kayaking, horse riding and dancing.

The workshops offered will be diverse limited only by the desire to ensure the facilitator wants to help empower and evolve those present. We have found an amazing property that could be purchased to start the project to learn more join their Facebook group “Kalikapai Eco-village and Community Retreat Centre”

There is a limited time opportunity to purchase this property so we do need urgent support. If you like the vision we would love to offer you the ability to camp here, come to a festival, do a workshop, run a workshop or stay as a guest.

The property currently has two buildings one that would be great as the basis of the retreat centre and another that would make a good community hub with a commercial style kitchen. The property is raised and has amazing 180 degree water and forest views, it has water frontage onto a harbour and two beaches. It also has over 20HA of steep paddocks that we intend to mostly return to native forest.

We will prioritise living in harmony, growing our own food, sustainable building and sharing these practices with others.

We are currently working with a lawyer and accountant to ensure robust legal entities will protect the land and the community and ensure people living there will be protected and able to leave or pass their share to the next generation.
