Who are we?

Jing Well Acupuncture Limited (https://www.jingwell.nz) is an established traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) practice located in Carterton in the heart of the beautiful Wairarapa, New Zealand.

To meet growing needs, we are expanding to include a clinic in Kuripuni, Masterton. Our new location will give us more space, allowing us to meet the increased need for treatment through having more practitioners on board and additional rooms available. What we are especially excited about is that this new space will allow us to provide community natural healthcare services as part of our clinic - in order help the many people in our community who ‘fall through the cracks’. These people cannot fund full-cost treatment as they do not have a covered injury or medical insurance. With both the space and additional practitioners, we can make a significant difference to those in the community who really need it.

Our clinic will operate as a mixed private/community clinic, with allocated time slots and days for community treatments - based on demand (as demand increases, we will increase availability). We have already purchased the premises and have committed both our own business and private funds in order to renovate this for the private rooms.

How will the community clinic work?

Each session will start with consultation and will be followed by a treatment. Consultations will be private (in separate rooms), but treatment will occur in a semi-private (screened) communal space - in purpose-made acupuncture recliner chairs. On-duty practitioners will treat more than one client in an hour, but each client will be treated by only one practitioner (for continuity of treatment).

As part of this, we want to create a very comfortable, relaxed and social setting - an area separate from the community treatment space where each person can be heard and take their time, have some herbal tea, spend some time talking and connecting to others. Our vision is not only about physical health, but is also about people getting together, connecting and supporting each other. A safe place where we holistically see and truly care for the individual.

How is a private treatment different?

Each private treatment is a one-on-one session (from beginning to end) with a practitioner in a private clinic room. The practitioner will undertake a full consultation and treatment for a single patient during that time. The initial consultation and treatment takes a full hour and twenty minutes, and follow-up consultations, an hour.

How can you help?

Your financial support will enable us to make a number of changes to the clinic (including improved disabled facilities, creation of shared clinic and treatment spaces for the community aspect), and purchase a range of equipment for the community treatments. We have already committed a significant amount of our business and private funds to make both the private and community services a reality, however we still need some support. Please enable us (through your support) to make acupuncture available at low cost to the community!

Stretch goals

If, through your generous support we can raise $80 000 then we will be able to enhance parking, opening up space from the neighbouring property for larger vehicles, including vans, mobility scooters and special-purpose vehicles. This area will then also be able to support the larger people movers that are typically used to transport groups of people. We will also be able to purchase a speciality electrically adjustable treatment chair that enables treatment of those who patients who have severe disabilities or are physically too large to fit in a standard chair.
