Stationed - Short Film
Project 2020-08-24 16:47:23 +1200
We aim to bring our vision for a short film to life as part of our final years project at AUT. A brief outline of the story we wish to tell is as follows: A young man bruised and beaten by the pressures of his job, finds himself accidentally getting off at the wrong train station. Feeling defeated by his own missteps and errors, he decides to call it all quits. His job, his dreams, his future. He’s going home. Waiting for the train, he meets an elderly woman on the bench next to him. Their conversation soon puts the young man’s entire perspective into question.
The aim of the film is to show our audience that it’s often the goals that seem so far away, are the ones that shine brightest when we finally reach them. It’s easy for us to give up when things get tough, and question whether our efforts are worth the struggle. We hope that this film convinces our audience to push through those hard times and get to where they want to be. We feel like this film speaks to a lot of young people entering their careers, as things tend to get a lot tougher before they get better. Goals and lifelong dreams aren’t often achieved overnight, so it’s important we spread these messages.
The team who will make this piece consists of students from AUT studying Communications, majoring in film. These students being James-Henry Mather (director), Zach McCaig-Megson (producer), Felix Zhang (cinematographer), Freya Sturm (lighting), Lachlan Rennie (assistant director), and Daniel Regal (sound). Along with being a vital story we beleive needs telling, this film will act as a stepping stone into our careers in the film industry, so it is integral that we put our full attention into it.
The funding for our project will be put towards the location, props, catering, paying our wonderful actors, and submission into film festivals so wide audiences can view this film. Therefore any type of donation, big or small, will help us to acheive our goal.
Finally, James-Henry and Zach would like to thank you in advance for donating, sharing this page, or even just checking it out as any type of support helps. So thank you greatly to our family, friends, or anyone else who wishes to see us create our vision that we have poured ourselves into.
