Kind Consumption with Ethically So.
Ethically So. is a low-waste online store based in New Zealand. We launched in June 2019 with the intention to share our journey to zero-waste with others. We aim to make sustainable living easy, support local New Zealand businesses, and educate others. We focus on Kind & Conscious Consumption, not over consumption.
Since launching our online store and successfully fulfilling over 1000 orders, we are wanting to take further steps to share our story with YOU.
OUR DREAM
Our dream would be to have a warehouse, and to eventually expand our online store to also being a brick and mortar store. We would love to be able to put more time into Ethically So. but this is currently difficult whilst working 40+ hours elsewhere. We know the age of digital trading is expending rapidly and to keep up with the demand we need more space.
We also would love to be able to attend more markets, festivals and expo days which would help us get our name, and cause out there a bit more. Eventually, this would lead to us shipping internationally.
Since launching just over a year ago we have grown from having products from 10 New Zealand companies, to over 200+ low-waste everyday essentials from 125+ New Zealand ownes businesses.
At this moment in time, all stock is in our garage. We have got to a point where we need space to expand, and we need YOUR help doing this!
Meet the Founder
Hello! I'm Annie, the founder of Ethically So. I launched ESO. in June 2019 after travelling the world for just under 4 years. Travelling South East Asia for 6 months opened my eyes to the realisation of how much our addiction to plastic was affecting not only our planet but also the people and animals on it. I then lived in Byron Bay Australia for a year before moving to Auckland. Shortly after moving to AKL I realised how hard it was to find the everyday essential low-waste products that I could easily get my hands on in Byron Bay.
After hunting hard I found a collection of plastic-free and natural beauty and bathroom products that I loved, but it wasn't easy to find them. I realised that there were so many amazing low-waste companies in New Zealand creating epic products, but they were just all over the place. So I decided to put them all in one space. Ethically So. is your rocket pocket one-stop-shop for eco-living in New Zealand. We're your digital guide to sustainability. Our aim is to not only make it easy for you by having a collectoin of eco goodies in one place, but also by helping cut down on your shipping costs and shipping emissions.
Who Are We For?
Ethically So. was designed for people who want to make changes in their life but have no idea where to start. We are here to walk you through the basics and help you learn along the way. They want to have a positive impact on the environment but don't know how to help. They want to support local but think it's too expensive. We are here to shine the light on the positivity of low-waste living

& Just like that we are officially PLEGED! Thank you so so much to every single one of you (72 of you) who had faith in what I'm doing here with Ethically So. I can't believe it!
With these pledges we will not only be getting more storage space so we can grow and support more small businesses, and get more epic plastic free products on board. We will also be investing in a re-brand of Ethically So. and seeking out help when it comes to our accounts and finances (not my strong point).
The generosity of other humans has completely blown me away. I can’t believe my tiny little shop that started from and idea has not only turned into a legit business, but it actually has the backing of 72 of you and over 1500 customers who have placed orders.

To be honest we didn't even know if we would hit $100 let alone $1000. However this is where it gets tricky. We have reached out to the majority of our resources/audience/suppliers and we still need support. Unless we hit he $5k target, we will not get access to any part of the $1.2k
