HOLY WHAT... TWENTY ACTUAL YEARS! (Are you sure they're not dog years?)
Our platinum-selling debut album Pet is twenty years young this year, and has been completely out of circulation for almost as long. To celebrate this milestone (and fulfill a long-held dream) we are going to press Pet on vinyl – a limited edition run of 12" double LPs, in beautiful gatefold packaging (that's the fancy one what opens and closes like, well, an album!).
On its first outing, Pet spent a total of 30 weeks in the charts! It contains the singles Andrew, Holy, Spinning A Line, and the song which knocked Destiny's Child off the number one Christmas spot in 2000... you know her name... Lydia. This time around, we are officially including, for the very first time, the oh-so-'90s "hidden track" Bottles & Jars (seriously, did you even know it was there???).
We have a number of our original Furry team on board to help us with this pressing, including designer (and small toy torturer) Andrew B. White, who is lovingly fattening the CD artwork up to LP size; and the songs themselves have been remastered by Welli-whizz Mike Gibson, who was in the studio with us all those (but not that many) years ago, as our Pet engineer! The vinyl itself will be squished into form at NZ's only record pressing plant, Holiday Records, making this special edition 100% Kiwi-made.

Everyone who pledges to help us make the plastic thingies will receive a digital download of Pet, in the file format of your choice. As a bonus, we are proud to offer to you a digital EP of our live performance at Radio New Zealand's sadly decommissioned Helen Young Studios. Recorded by RNZ stalwart/treasure Andre Upston in 2000, the EP features beautiful live recordings of Holy, Andrew, Hauling You Around, and (of course) Lydia, plus two rarities – Fall (which was the B side to Andrew), and the never-before-released Just Like You. Ngā mihi nui, Radio New Zealand!!!
You can pre-order your copy of the LP, but why stop there? For just a squidge more, you can have your name printed in the album credits! Like, in the artwork! Because, seriously, we can't do this without you.
Because we no longer live in the same city (or even same side of the planet. Waaaaah.) any more, we can't all sign these records. Instead, we are offering limited edition signed prints of the album cover. These will be printed in Paris & signed by Steve, who will send them to Simon in Melbourne who will sign & send to Andrew in Wellington, who in turn signs them & sends them to Julia in Auckland. Literally halfway across the world – just like the song says (Not Your Girl, in case you were wondering).
We are also offering copies of our second album Collider on vinyl; private concerts either live-streamed or in actual real-life in your own home; and, here's the goody... your very own personalised live recording of Lydia, with YOUR NAME in place of you-know-who's. This would make a great gift... just sayin'.

Put the bubbles in the chiller & start dusting off the gramophone, because we finally have an ETA for our records!!!
After about a dozen setbacks including (but not limited to) a pandemic, lockdowns, an exploding machine, shipping delays, and the Texan snow storms & power outages, we will at last be receiving our long (long, looooooong) awaited vinyl pressings at the end of next week.
After we have tipped them all out on the floor & rolled about in them (just kidding!), we will be packaging them up and sending them off to arrive just in time for the Easter break. This means Pet will be the vinyl soundtrack to your over-indulgement in chocolate! Seriously, if we'd known it would take this long we might've actually ordered a whole bunch of chocolate rabbits to send out with them... but hey! BETTER LATE THAN NEVER.

We’ve had some unfortunate news from the hardworking folk at Holiday Records:
We are so sorry that this isn’t the update we were hoping we’d be sending out about now. Needless to say, we are gutted – for you, for us, and for Holiday who have been working through the holidays (oh the irony) to meet their increased demand in pressings.
Thank you again for your support and for your continued patience. We will continue to keep you updated with any news and hopefully will have an E.T.A. A.S.A.P.!

We are truly blown away by your support in helping us press our wee Pet on vinyl – we literally could not be doing this without you.
We'll be putting the finishing touches on the artwork (and adding those names!) this week; the masters have already been sent off for the plates to be made, and as soon as they arrive in NZ a certain singer will have her nose pressed to the glass doors of Holiday Records, waiting to be let in to see the pressing machine in action. Expect excited updates!
