Classical Studies Memes for Hellenistic Teens is a rapidly growing community of fans of the Classical World that numbers over 300,000 followers. We are aware that there is a huge racial inequality in the academic world of Classics and some classical images and ideas have been co-opted by those who would spread messages of hate or racial superiority. Our mission is two-fold: to create a set of artwork for our social media sites that both represents the diverse nature of Classics and its people, and support in particular BIPOC as our fans and also as artists. As such we want to commission artwork from a BIPOC artist and donate any leftover funds to Sportula, a fund supporting Black students of Classics in America.

Wow guys we have already hit our first target! We will get on to producing our artwork but now is the chance to make a huge difference towards Black Lives in America. All further funds will be donated to Sportula, a microgrant fund for Black classics students!
