Her Way... Real Stories Of NZ Women Succeeding In Business And Doing So With Heart

Project 2020-03-03 00:37:29 +1300

Her Way is a quality paperback book bringing together a collection of real stories of NZ Female Business Founders.  These women show that you can succeed in business, and do so with heart.

“The business landscape is changing.  It’s become less and less viable to simply do business in the traditional way, whereby there can only be one winner, and the mighty dollar trumps all else.

More and more, inherently feminine attributes are shining through as useful in a business setting, and businesswomen (and men) are showing that traits such as caring, sharing, nurturing, collaborating, treating people well, and being mindful of the planet can actually be harnessed to generate greater commercial success, as well as being a more positive way of doing business.

Her Way is a collection of real stories of interesting female business founders succeeding in their business endeavours, on their own terms, and with heart.  Share in the ups and downs of their personal journeys.  Be inspired, and maybe learn a thing or two.  See that it’s definitely possible to do good, and do well.”

There’s a wide range of female founders / businesswomen included from all over New Zealand.  Here’s just a few of the stories included (subject to final edit):

* Lisa King, Founder of Eat my Lunch – providing corporate lunches on a Buy one, Give one, model to feed hungry school kids.

* Brianne West, Founder of Ethique – removing plastic bottles from the beauty industry with an extensive range of beauty bars

* Kiri Nathan, prominent Maori fashion designer

* Anna Guenther, Founder of Pledge Me – NZ’s crowd funding platform

* Hiria Te Rangi, Whare Hauora – creating affordable home sensors measuring dampness & warmth to help families manage the healthiness of their homes

* Theresa Gattung, NZ Lead of SheEO & Co-founder of My Food Bag

* Chloe Van Dyke, Founder of The Chia Sisters – creating nutritional beverages from a solar powered factory

And that's just a few...

This book is being published in April 2020.  (Print delayed until after Covid-19 Lockdown in NZ, so could be May.)

I have self-funded the project to date and still require approximately $20,000 to cover the professional photography, design layout, and first print run.

The book will be sold in good book stores & gift stores, but in these interesting times (thanks Covid-19) I'd love your support with pre-sales now to help cover production costs, and ensure all the SME businesses involved in the production process are paid well and promptly.

Buy one for yourself to enjoy, or buy more at a generous discount for your friends / colleagues, client gifts, event goodie bags.

Every copy sold helps.

Thank you!

New Release Date for Her Way - Big Apologies for the Delay! (blaming the big C... No, not that one, thankfully!)

02/07/2020 at 3:01 PM

To my dear (and very much appreciated) Pledge Me supporters & pre-sale book buyers,

I hope this message finds you well and happy, and navigating any curve balls that Covid-19 may have sent your way.

As with many people & businesses, Covid 19 threw a few unexpected challenges into the mix for me here over the last couple of months, which meant a few unanticipated delays with the Her Way book, and needing to push out the release date.  Nothing insurmountable though, and the book is taking shape and looking gorgeous.

I now have confirmation of new print and delivery dates, and am planning the launch of Her Way for the week beginning Monday 24th August.  I do apologise for the delayed timeframe but it’s just the way things are in the current climate.  There is a chance that I may be able to get delivery of a small number of books slightly earlier, and if I can do that, I will send your orders out sooner.

I do apologise for the delay, and thank you sincerely for your patience and understanding.

If you have any problems with the new delivery timeframe, please let me know.

I am doing my best to ensure it’s not only worth the wait, but that your wait is not too long!

Many thanks & kind regards

Jacqui

Big Thank You & Update from Jacqui

27/03/2020 at 2:46 PM

To all the lovely people who’ve already pledged to buy copies of Her Way,

I hope you’re all staying happy and well in your bubble at home, in these interesting times.

I just wanted to drop you a quick message to firstly say a big “Thank you” for already pledging your support for Her Way by buying books – it is very much appreciated.

You may have noticed that the deadline miraculously became extended and this campaign is now running until next Sunday.

This was due to many people (quite rightly) being otherwise occupied this week with keeping well, hunkering down, and preparing to adapt to a new normal, so I’m sure buying books hasn’t been anyone’s top priority.  We also won’t be able to print books until NZ businesses re-open, so we have some extra time up our sleeves.

Once we’ve all had a chance to regroup, catch our breath, and settle into our bubbles at home, I will be using some of this time to keep the energy of this special project humming.  Next week, I’ll start to add some snippets of some of the women in the book.

I'm also hoping we can  share the campaign a bit wider and find more people that will enjoy and be inspired by this book.

Although the minimum set target of $5000 is almost met, I do still need to rustle up approx. $20,000 (total) to cover the production costs of the book.  This is to pay the wonderful NZ small businesses that are involved in the project – including the photographer, designers, and print company.

It may be a while before retail stores are open and flourishing, so the more copies we can sell online now, through this Pledge Me campaign, the easier it is to ensure that these businesses are all paid promptly, and well.

Please could you Share, Share, Share this Pledge Me link with your friends, your colleagues, your networks, and your social media channels.  Every single copy sold helps!

And, if you have a need for client gifts, event giveaways, or maybe want to onsell copies through your own business, do take advantage of the discounted rates for buying x10 and x25.

Big thank you!

Stay well and keep smiling.

Jacqui x
