Rebuilding The Mangawhai Historic Wharf
Project 2019-10-18 13:29:28 +1300
The Mangawhai wharf was built in 1880 and eventually fell into disrepair and was demolished in the 1950's. The wharf was the gateway to our region. Rebuilding to the same design in the same location will give our community a wonderful recreational asset, reconnect us to our past, and also provide a focal point for the increasing number of visitors to Mangawhai.
The Mangawhai Historic Wharf Trust is seeking to raise $80,000 via a PledgeMe campaign to fund the resource consent hearing and approval process. The Trust is a registered charity. See our website (www.mangawhaihistoricwharf.com) and Facebook page.
