***UPDATE***
We're funded! But MORE $$ MEANS MORE PAINTING. Please don't stop now. We need your support to share and reach more people. This campaign belongs to all of Greymouth and every person who calls the West Coast home.
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR SUPPORT!
************
Our project "paint the town" is a vision we have for our town to become a brighter, more attractive space to appeal to everybody in our community. By painting and sprucing up Greymouth's older buildings we hope to bring in more foot traffic as well as creating a more lively, positive mindset about our beautiful little town.
We've made connections with fellow youth and business owners within our area, and the amount of support we've received furthers our drive to make this dream come true. So far we've painted a wall of one local business as a tester, which helped us create our project video as well as inspiring our visions for creativity.
Our second side project is working on new bin designs to go into our cbd. local art will be displayed on these bins around out town! This is an opportunity for our entrpreneurs to promote their business and contribute to a better Greymouth.
Your backing will help make this a reality. Physical rewards will be delivered in person at our end of year showcase on October 25 in Greymouth

Whoop!
29/05/2020 at 9:15 PM
Local government legend, Penny Kirk and Grey District Mayor Tania Gibson join our very own Elicia Keating as they brave a chilly morning on Mackay Street to commemorate the installation of the art bins we helped create along with GDC and artists from our community.
Council likes them so much that they're planning to put in a second batch in the near future!
We are still working to finalise the use of remaining funds. We've been working with a local artist on some concepts for a mural. Looks like it might either adorn the buildings behind Revington's when it comes down or the river wall.
Will keep you posted as details are available :)
Bins set to go!
20/03/2020 at 10:17 AM
All the panels are printed and sitting with Grey District Council. I'm told they look great. Just waiting on the Council to get them in. They're likely to have other priorities now with a pandemic to deal with though so patience will be key
Off to the printers!
04/02/2020 at 9:50 PM
Just a quick note to say that all the artwork for bin panels has been chosen, digitised and sent to the printer!
Should have a turn-around of a couple of weeks and plans are in place for council to install the bins about the same time.
Excitement!
Finishing Touches

We'd like to invite all those who pledged to the Paint The Town PledgeMe campaign and all those who physically contributed to the project to place your hand print on the pillars of our art wall. Please come join us and become a part of this project community-led initiative to uplift our town.
Take 2
30/12/2019 at 10:00 AM
Hi all,
Just wanted to let you know that after a Christmas break, we are back on the walls this week. Come join us for this second (and probably final) push. Weather looks like it'll work with us a bit better this time :)
Well under way
17/12/2019 at 11:41 AM
Both parts to our project are well under way. We have a few photos printed.
We have also started our paint project.
Submissions continue to come in from the school kids filling in colouring competition entries. Now if only the weather would co-operate we will get colour on these walls too!
This is all thanks to your support. Once again, thank you!
It's Time!
10/12/2019 at 8:06 PM
Well... If the weather plays ball anyway.
To our loyal pledgers: it has been decided that we will begin our project on the 14th of December, and end on the 20th. The walls we are painting are around the carpark area at Perotti Lane
Here’s an outline of the plan:
Sat 14 Dec: 10am start. Someone should be there from about 9 setting up. Wall Prep(water blasting and sanding). We probably won't need too many for this step. We should be fine doing it with the Future Leaders crew.
Sun 15 Dec: Final bits of wall prep and begin painting! Weather permitting, we could use a hand from 12. Let us know if your available.
Mon 16 Dec: Continue painting!
Tue 17 Dec: More painting!
Wed 18 Dec: Yup, more painting!
Thu 19 Dec: You guessed it, painting and some last touches, including putting our pledgers hand prints on the walls.
Fri 20 Dec: Final day of painting and some last touches like the anti-graffiti layer we will add
We are so grateful for your continued support of our project, and we can’t wait to Paint the Town.
We're optimistic about the weather but also realistic. There's some fairly rough weather forecast at this stage and it might change our plans.
The actual work times will likely depend on the weather. We'd like to start as soon as it looks good for the rest of the day (nervous).
Keep an eye on our Facebook page for updates on start times.
Come "Make Your Mark"
15/11/2019 at 12:27 PM
Come join us to paint a couple of walls during the first week of the school holidays. Work periods may vary due to weather and equipment availability but we will be working through the day and welcome volunteers. Register your interest through the event on our Facebook page or email us at [email protected]
Showcase!!

Kia Ora whānau!!
Just another reminder of our final showcase event that is tonight from 6pm at the Tai poutini Polytechnic in Greymouth! Everybody who donated is able to rock up and see our speeches as well as some nibbles.
A big thank you once again to every one of you guys that pledged to our campaign, your help is tremendous and we're super excited to see where this project goes ❤️
Mic Drop!

Wow! What a ride. Well that is the crowdfunding part of our journey finished. Thank you to Guy for one final pledge to send us on our way.
Thank you all for pledging your support. Your confidence in us to get this done really helps and we don't intend to let you down.
We are also well aware though, that this is only the beginning. Now that we have the resources, we have to dig in and do the mahi. We find ourselves in a bit of a holding pattern as we get a few "T"s crossed and "I"s dotted but we are still hoping to get the first of our art panels out with the bins as they are installed in our CBD. The road slip in Omoto has caused a few hold-ups at the council end and we are yet to finalise exactly which buildings will be painted. We have approval for one of the three buildings in our preferred target area but have to wait while a committee discusses our proposal for the other two.
THIS IS YOUR PROJECT TOO! So we would love to hear from you if you have suggestions of areas in town that might benefit from a bit of a spuce up. If you know the owners of the buildings involved, even better! Tap them on the shoulder and pitch our revitalisation idea to them. We want to make sure we do this right. So we need to cover this initial process off thoroughly before we charge in. Any suggestions, interested building owners or questions? Contact [email protected]
You need to pledge to see this update.
Another big thanks

Kia Ora whānau!
This update is just a big acknowledgement to everybody who has pledged, followed and shared our campaign so far. Words can't describe how happy we are with surpassing our goal so quickly, and it's amazing to wake up every morning and see just how much love coasters have for our ambitions to change the town.
Thank you all so much, and also to our newest pledgers: Lisa Torrance and Fred Heine, welcome to the whānau!
Every little bit helps us tremendously, so a massive shout out to everybody who gave what they could. By chipping in we've created a new beginning for everybody. Thank you ❤️
Making Connections!

Kia Ora whānau!
We're over 3,000!!!! A big thank-you to the newest pledgers: Tracey Geerin, Rebekah Fox and a few other anon pledgers ❤️
We're making connections! Here's Stephen sitting with the Grey District Business & Promotions Association trying to ensure a united vision for Greymouth's development among its various stakeholders!
We Made It! $3000!
23/09/2019 at 6:21 PM
We made it to $3000! But only with your help. Special thanks to Tracey Geerin and another anonymous pledger who tipped us over the line.
With all these pledges and donations from local businesses to help us get it done, we're looking good to do what we hoped and more. Big shout out also goes to Signlink Graphics who have also pledged to help us out with some of the print and paint aspects of the project.

Soooooooo CLOSE!
20/09/2019 at 5:09 PM
We are sitting soooooo close to $3000! Why not tell a few friends about our campaign and help us spread the excitement? Maybe they will want to get behind us and give us the little nudge we need to get over that magic 3000.
Had some really good conversations with council today about turning this into reality. We're hoping to have the first of our bin artworks selected very soon. With a little luck we might manage to get a few of the panels printed and installed before they hit the streets in 2-4 weeks!
Really excited about the things to come. We're in an uplifting space, where we seem set to be able to achieve even more than we'd hoped. We'll expand our plans to reflect the resources we can access, so keep spreading the word. Thanks for keeping us striving for more.
OMG! Thank you all

Antony Merriman, Kate, Julie Christie, Jake Cornall, Tania Beynon, Laura Curragh, Jackie Curragh, Jess, Linda Beach and all those anonymous pledgers who have helped us get over the line so early:
We've also been contacted by people offering scaffolding and other resources, which is awesome too, since that was going to be one of our main expenses. Won't go into the details until that is finalised but we are all certainly feeling the love and truly appreciate everyone's support
