About

The Knight And The Fool - A Short Film

Project 2012-02-03 02:03:22 +1300

"If something is worth doing, it's worth doing well." An English proverb that suits us well too, we think.

This Pledge Me crowdfunding venture is our first foray into anything of its sort, and it's always a fair question for someone who may be looking for a decent project, to ask: "Why should I give you my hard-earned dosh, and what will you do with it?"

The answer is actually easy: You should fund us for the same reasons that our amazing cast and creative team have signed on. They loved the story and our idea.

So you don't need to take our word for it, because the talent of our team speaks far more eloquently than any sales pitch. Go to our Idle Dandies Entertainment production blog (see our link) and check us out. These world class, talented artists have all said "Yes," to joining our team, and we couldn't be more excited. http://idledandies.com/

But we still can't make this happen without your funding. Please take a look at our creative team and our cast.

They are all working professionals and we cannot make them work at their best for free; we have already won them with our idea and script for the project but now we have to start the production.

This money is for Production Design and Costume Design: armour, stunt weapons, props, costumes, fabrics, sewing.

After this pledge you will see us again, telling you how we are doing and presenting you with our next step.

Together, with your help, we can create something magnificent.

Hello again, so nice to see you!

04/11/2013 at 11:31 PM

Hi Pledgers, just a quick note, because the news came in yesterday. We didn't get short listed for funding from Premiere Shorts this year. Rats. Oh well, we have other plans up our collective sleeve, so now we get back to work. Vera is 1 year old now, so the light is brightening in the dark pit of early parenthood. We can start to climb out of it.

Any questions can be asked on our Facebook page, and we will shortly begin to fulfill a few credits that we owe on Facebook as well.

Back soon, and much more regularly!

Ben.

Hi-dee ho, Pledgers

09/12/2012 at 4:19 AM

Hi, it's us again, and we are currently working on our first newsletter for you all.

Some of you aren't signed up for it, based on your Pledge choice, but we thought that we'd keep you in the loop for the first issue anyway, because of how long it has been since you're heard from us.

Here's the thing: a couple of you won't be able to receive the newsletter because we don't have your email addresses yet. You signed in using Faceberk, or another server. You lovely people will have to get in touch with us through our Website: www.idledandies.com, or our Facebook Page: Idle Dandies Entertainment. We will try to track you down ourselves as well, if we can. Whatever the case, stay tuned here, because we will notify you when the newsletter goes out. Whomsoever (that's for you Rebecca) does not receive the letter at the time of its issue, please get in touch with us so that we can update our database.

Back soon,

Ben and Marzena.

Long time, no Update

Hello,

Just a quick update, we've all been flat out since the Pledge Me campaign was a success, and we're returning to take care of business as we move to our next phase. Fear not good Pledgers, we are at the helm and shall steer this juggernaut straight and true. Drop us a line at http://idledandies.com anytime.
Back soon,

Ben, Marzena and Melissa.

Success!

16/03/2012 at 11:16 AM

We made it! WOW, a massive effort from so many friends at the last hour meant that we went over the Pledge Me target. Leonardo Guerchmann, Joseph Sherman-Mendez, and Laura Samide all pledged around the same time, and now our total is at $5,300! We are ecstatic, that all of you put your faith in our project. There's plenty of room for more pledges, by the way. Our film budget is still being sorted out, and this campaign will now provide much needed funding for our production design and costume design. Any questions? Ask away. Find us on Facebook, or at www.idledandies.com

Much love and gratitude,

Ben Fransham, Marzena Zareba and Mel Dodds

$3,900, but only 12hrs left! Help!

15/03/2012 at 11:22 PM

Waaaargh!
All of our lovely pledgers' dredging of their pockets for spare cash, will amount to nothing, if we can't make our target within these last 12 hours. We still need $1,300, or 52 minimum pledges.
Please pass on the good word, and maybe we will survive.

Thank you for all of your support so far!

Ben and Marzena.

$2,900! 3 days left...

13/03/2012 at 1:49 AM

We have only had 5 pledges so far today, but what pledges! A whopper from Stephan Remstedt, and 4 fine promises of hard cash from James Stewart, Matt Fritz, Clare, and Alex Galvin. Times are hard for many people, and the fact that you can put aside what is yours to help us create an artwork, is remarkable. Thank you all so much. We're still in the running, it seems, to become America's next top model...

Wow, You guys are alright.

12/03/2012 at 9:48 AM

We've just had several pledges in quick succession, so this is a quick update. We have just made $2,200! Thanks to you wonderful pledgers, we could succeed at the last minute, and now all we need is $3,000 in the next 3 days! Today we made quota, and it's all thanks to you!
We are a little in awe of the support that is pouring in right now, so we hope that you feel good about yourselves. We certainly do.
Stay tuned, and please egg on your mad, stinking rich relatives (you know the ones, long lost, and cat hoarding) to pony up a few bob, for an artistic effort that they won't regret. After all, you did, and we thank you for it.

Ben and Marzena.

Another Pledge today! Yay!

12/03/2012 at 1:20 AM

Virginia Crawford chipped in, and we've gained another couple of metres in this metaphorical marathon for money. Thanks Virginia! Please post to your friends and brag about your generosity. Sorry for their frequency, but this level of saturation is necessary to succeed at this late stage.

$1,275 raised, $3,925 to go!

12/03/2012 at 12:05 AM

Emiko Cowell just put one in the tank, if you'll pardon the expression, so we have another pledge chipped in! Thanks Emiko!

$1,250 raised, $3,950 to go

11/03/2012 at 11:17 PM

Erroll Shand just dropped in with a generous pledge, bringing us to $1,250. Yay! Now we only need $988 per day for the next 4 days of Pledge Me limbo.

$1,150 Raised! 4 days left!

11/03/2012 at 7:47 PM

Gregor Cameron just ponied up some dosh, thanks Gregor!

We're now at $1,125!

11/03/2012 at 10:56 AM

Great stuff! Stevie James, and Natasha Simeonidis, have both pledged within minutes of each other. Thank you so much!

We've done the ton: $1000! Only $4,200 to go!

11/03/2012 at 9:23 AM

Crikey, we've done well today. People are rallying to help us win this first round, and we really appreciate it. Amy Whiterod and Terry Binding generously jumped in this afternoon to bring us up to $1,000. Thank you! We are starting to have hope that we can make it. Please keep those pledges coming in. We need to top $1,000 every day from here on in, and remember, we won't see a cent unless we can raise the whole amount, so it's all or nothing.
Ben.

5 days left!

10/03/2012 at 10:58 PM

Three more pledges. Awesome. We only need ten times that amount per day, for the next five days, and we may break even. Thanks guys, we can still do this!

Another Pledge! 6 DAYS LEFT!

10/03/2012 at 3:04 AM

We've just received another pledge, thank you! We can still make this happen. We only need 187 pledges of only $25 each, which is 31 pledges per day for the next 6 days. It all depends on your help. If everyone chips in, then we're off! Please spread the word. If you can't pledge, then please post us to your page, and/or "like" us, and thanks for your help.

We have a complete cast

08/03/2012 at 5:46 AM

Great news! We've had a very busy couple of weeks, with some top secret stuff happening on the music side of production (we wish we could tell you!) but the most recent public news, is that Anya Tate-Manning has joined the cast. She is a marvellously talented actor, and we are so please to have her aboard. See her portrait here: http://idledandies.com
