The Wellington Fringe Festival is an open-access festival held every summer involving a wide range of shows across all artforms in venues throughout the city.
Support our free programme of installation works, performance art, and live music on Wellington's Waterfront this summer!
The Performance Arcade is an annual festival and event space, constructed in a line of shipping containers that feature a exciting array of innovative and spectacular live art projects from New Zealand and overseas. We are asking you, our public, to help the artists realise their vision for the most impressive Performance Arcade yet!
A creaking canopy of porcelain tableware from Margarita Ianev and Mathilde Polmard.
A stunning video installation by choreographer Jackie Wilson and award winning film-maker Florian Habicht.
A performing shadow-box theatre by Lucia Lie and Nikko Hull
An overflowing bath for the weary water-front public by Amy Miller and Daniel Cruden
A spunky injection of Auckland dance work by choreographer Josh Rutter
Serene Lorimer's origami project: F.O.L.D.
The strange felted worlds of Amber Pearson
Samin Son's marching army
Beth Sometimes, the Blind Sailor of the waterfront
Pinatas from the Everybody Cool Lives Here team
The Livelab: a container housing a different work each day (featuring Annaliese Murrell, Anna Hunt, and others!)
A programme of culinary performances (including Caitlin Le Harivel's Culinary Circus, and Margarita Ianev/Mathilde Polmard's Cooking Class II)
And a programme of afternoon musical performances: watch here for an update of band names in the next few weeks!
We need to raise $10,000 for these artists, so please be generous! In return for your contributions we would like to inlcude you in our list of patrons and offer you a range of gift packages. As a Gold Patron, SIlver Patron, Arcade Patron or contributor you will become a valued part of The Performance Arcade community, and a supporter of the vibrant and innovative art scene in Wellington. We look forward to seeing you this summer!
