About

Help Heather Dance In Guinea!

Project 2018-11-01 14:47:03 +1300

In late December 2018, Heather will be fulfilling a lifelong dream of travellng to Guinea, West Africa to partake in a two month long journey into West African dancing and culture. She will be studying with a world renowned Grand Master of West African Dance, Moustapha Bangoura, who is celebrating his 50th year of dance in his homeland, Guinea. He is the teacher of many of Heather's current and previous teachers, so it would be an honour to learn from him, get to know him and his family, and experience dance and the culture in his indigenous Baga land. Upon her return Heather will be entering the teaching profession as a newly qualified primary teacher and will be integrating her knowledge into her classroom practice. In addition, she will be holding a series of community classes to spread her new found experiences and knowledge to the wider community. She wants to offer you the opportunity to share in her journey and to have options of how you would like to be rewards - see below for more details.
