About

North To South - Hiking New Zealand's 3,000 Kilometre Te Araroa Trail

Project 2018-10-04 22:37:17 +1300

In the summer of 2017, I took six months off work to walk the length of New Zealand on the 3,000-kilometre Te Araroa trail.  This is the story of my Te Araroa journey.

It is a self published project and I'm doing pre-sales on the PledgeMe website.  It will be printed and ready for distribution at the end of November/start of December.  It would make a great Christmas present, even to yourself!  Five percent of all profits will go to each of the Te Araroa Trust, The Royal Forest and Bird Society, and the Federated Mountain Clubs (FMC) of NZ.

I'm a little biased, but I think it's a fantastic read with quirky takes of people I meet on the road, and vivid, colourful descriptions of the beautiful country I call home. I'd love to be able to share my story with you, and maybe inspire you to walk a part (or all?) of the Te Araroa.

I've had a few people read the book already, and this is what they had to say;

“Stefan weaves his life experiences and philosophy into this meticulous account of his journey through New Zealand.  His descriptions of the land and scenery he encounters and the people he meets speaks to a profound love of both.  It is a must read for all prospective Te Araroa walkers and anyone who wants to know Aotearoa better.”
