CAKE Short Film

CAKE is a short film about a girl with anxiety which over time has developed into agoraphobia. She refuses to leave her house and instead fills her own time with the comfort of baking cakes and relying on a checklist for menial tasks. Eventually, it catches up with her and she has to face the battles she has avoided for far too long.
The reason that I am creating this short film is that I’ve always wanted to tell a story about the reality of anxiety, and how one's feet can bolt down to the ground when presented with an opportunity. The film will present the theme of anxiety-driven panic attacks and sadness when comfort and stability is taken away.
Making any kind of film can be expensive when you factor everything into it. When you need to pay the crew, or you need to rent equipment, it certainly adds up. My partner and I have managed to save $1500 just to film this in our own house and purchase a lovely camera and a few DSLR rigs, however, $900 will enable us to pay the crew, rent the equipment we need and show our story to as many as we can.

I've been busy baking cakes and freezing them in preperation of the filming. It's been hectic but so rewarding and I couldn't have done it without you guys!
