Kia ora!
We are Aotearoa Roller Derby, New Zealand's national representative team heading to the Roller Derby World Cup in Manchester, United Kingdom. We are a group of 20 strong, athletic women eager to represent our country in the sport that we love.
Within our local leagues throughout New Zealand and Australia, we dedicate ourselves to multiple hours per week of training and behind-the-scenes volunteer work - all at our own financial expense.
Competing in this non-funded sport means that collectively, our team has spent thousands of dollars of their own money to attend squad trainings, international competitions, and meet league subscription requirements.
Of all of the international teams competing at the Roller Derby World Cup, Aotearoa Roller Derby arguably has one of the farthest and most expensive journeys to make just to attend the competition. On top of that, our squad needs to meet the financial obligations for transport, accommodation, and more while we're there. Our accomodation alone costs more than $10,000, and our return flights to Manchester, even more so.
But with your generosity, you can help put a dent in our debt by pledging towards our campaign and earning some sweet as rewards in the process!
Thank you so much for your interest. We hope to make you proud in Manchester!
