Love NZ Land And Water

Project 2017-09-01 16:53:59 +1200

Our Vision

We believe in bringing people together to achieve what we can’t alone; an environment, that all of us kiwis love, and are proud of.

We’re running 6 hui/gatherings, in 6 different areas across New Zealand in 7 days.

Our Hui & Gatherings are a place for people of all backgrounds to come together independent of party politics and the other labels that divide us, and delve into our hopes, dreams and aspirations for the land & water.

We want to create a space to hear each other out, acknowledge our differences and join forces to create solutions and projects to see real lasting change.

We’re so close to an election, and what would it look like if our politicians knew how much we cared about our land & water right now?

$4500 is the minimum required to take 4 people across the country and run these events. Sharing the stories & building the collective voice of New Zealanders and their love for the land and water.

(The more money we raise the more time we will be able to spend beyond the campaign following up on actions that result from conversations).

There are 2 parts to our Roadshow:

  1. Hui & Gatherings across 6 different locations from the 11th of September to the 17th of September:

Schedule: Auckland - 11th September, Whangarei - 12th, Palmerston North - 13th, Wellington - 15th, Christchurch - 16th, Southland - 17th.

So what are the outcomes?

  • Raise the concern: We’re building a movement offline & online, to raise the profile of this conversation to decision-makers.

  • Collaboration over competition: We want to collaborate and co-create solutions, build partnerships, and create allies not enemies.

  • Open the conversation: Decisions tend to happen behind closed doors; we want to open it up, bring in the public, share the outcomes and insights of each the hui with you.

  1. Stories of New Zealanders; Why they Love NZ Land & Water.

We believe that we connect to stories more than we do figures.

We’re bringing along professional videographer & vlogger Suggie, who will be interviewing people in each of the town we go to, to hear from them, what’s important, what are their dreams, their desires for the land & water.

We will be building a social media movement to spread the word far and wide to all corners of New Zealand. Get the attention of media outlets, and publishers to share the stories of New Zealanders.

On our website & facebook page we’ll be highlighting projects & solutions. Please reach out on [email protected]- We’d love to hear from you about your ideas, converns, projects, stories or solutions.

My Story:

My name is Tui Williams; I'm passionate about the land & water because;

I, like many others grew up loving the countryside, spending time in nature, riding horses, connected to the land, my home. As I grew up, I learnt more about how the land provides for us, and how much we, the animals, trees and rivers rely on it to survive.

I'm afraid of the fragility our land & water, our kaitiakitanga our role & responsibility as stewards and guardians of the land. Now more than ever in unprecedented shifts in policy, climate & current affairs, we need to remind ourselves of what makes us so kiwi, our love for the land & water.

So that’s why, we’re heading up and down the country to bring together people to create a New Zealand that we’re proud of, one where we acknowledge the land is our home, respecting the ground beneath us, and share pride in what makes us kiwi. Bare-foot and all.
