Hi everyone - thank you for taking the time to have a look at my project!
My goal for this project is to get 200 + colouring books published, to sell online and take to vegan expos to sell. They will be printed and bound professionally by a printing company and each book will be signed by the artist (me). Each colouring page is unique, original and hand-drawn with tons of detail for people of all ages to enjoy.
There are so many colouring books out there that I was hesitant at first, to make one. But after so many suggestions and such enthusiastic support I decided to make a colouring book that has a uniqueness - not only in the style of the drawings but also in the messages within the drawings.
I would consider this an 'animal-rights' colouring book, however it has happy drawings and subtle messages. Colouring pages are meant to be joyful and encourage meditation and contemplation. My designs are fun, happy and show a world in which animals are treated well and loved- typical of my art style. Each page concentrates on a certain group of animals and / or a story with animals in it. The books are for anyone of any age who loves to colour and who appreciates animals and art. My hope is that seeds of hope and compassion are planted within each person as they colour and communicate with each page.
ABOUT THE BOOKS
Each book will have 40 pages of original drawings, drawn specifically for this project. The colouring pages will be professionally printed on eco-friendly FSC approved recycled paper using vegan friendly inks. Each book will be wire-spiral bound with a colour cover.
Book Size: 320 x 300 mm / 11.8 x 12.6 inches
(a little bit bigger than your average colouring book!)

THE ARTIST'S STORY
I am a full-time artist living in Christchurch, New Zealand. My art has always focused on animals, storytelling and animal-human connections. For many years I was vegetarian and for almost five years I have been vegan. Becoming vegan has focused my art making and it has become concentrated in animal-rights themes. This topic of animal rights can feel somewhat negative so I wanted to counteract that imagery I was seeing all the time that was making me upset or angry, and I wanted to show people what being kind and compassionate could look like....with embellishments from my imagination!
WHAT I WILL USE THE FUNDS FOR
If I reach my goal, the funds raised will cover printing / publication and postage. I hope to be able to print more books than what is ordered this time, so I can bring some to the Vegan Expos I will be attending later in the year.
If this project gets funded the books will be ready well before Christmas. I think they would make fantastic gifts!

Receiving your Books

Hi everyone,
By now, most of you should have you books. I have loved getting all the positive feedback about them so far! For those who have not yet received them, they will be on their way. I only have the remaining 4 'big bundles' to post out tomorrow.
For those who opted for picking up from me - I have heard from and seen a few people but I still have a few people who have yet to make contact. You can email me at [email protected] or message me on FB messanger to organise a time and day to pick up. In the meantime your books are all wrapped up and ready for you when you are.

Hello again,
Just a quick email to let you all know that I have all the books now and I am going to start posting them out from Monday next week!
For everyone who is going to pick up from me: I will be at the Vegan Expo in Christchurch this Sunday and I will bring your books there. Come and see me - I will be sharing a table with the Vege Youth group. Hello everyone,
I just want to let you all know that the books are with the printers and should be in my hands by the weekend. As soon as I have the books I will update you all again with details for picking them up (if you are in Christchurch) and for when I am posting them all, for everyone else. I am pretty certain this will all happen by early next week.

Dear wonderful people,
As we near the finish line of this campaign I'd like to say a big thank you to you all for your support! With the goal being met, I have been able to tell my printer to go ahead and print the books, which means everyone who pledged for books, shall have their books as soon as they are all printed and sent to me. I will let you all know when that will be, as soon as I know - but I am expecting that it will be within the next two weeks.
If you have pledged for prints and / or original art I will be in touch as soon as the campaign is over and the PledgeMe people have given me your details.
Only one more day left - if you or anyone you know would like to take advantage of my low price fine art prints / original art or colouring books, this is the time to do it.

Thank you for your support so far! It is getting so close to the goal and we have 9 more days to make it happen. I would LOVE to give my printer the 'thumbs up' before the end of the month so as soon as this goal is met I will be ordering those books so you can have them sent / given to you as soon as possible. If you can help by sharing my social media posts or telling your friends that would be fantastic!
Oh and in case you didnt know, I have added some more pledges. There are options for prints, cards, stickers and original paintings - all of which are cheaper than their usual prices if gotten here on PledgeMe. The original paintings all come with a free colouring book.
