About Linden School Playground Project

Our current playing frame is 26 years old and has less than a years life left. Very soon she will be unsafe to use.
It is used daily by our school children, the onsite OSCAR programme, as well as by many local children from the wider community. It is a valued piece of equipment that for many children has brought hours of happiness.
Whilst obtaining quotes to begin fundraising for a replacement, it became apparent that the need to replace her was far more urgent than we realised. A number of issues were identified, some easily fixed for the interim until we raise the funds. But one major issue was the current slide. Sadly it had exposed fiber glass, which can be a serious health issue. We have now managed to replace the slide thanks to parents fundraising efforts but in the last week we have had to remove two other components of the frame, one of which broke whilst being played on'- luckily there were no injuries.
The total cost of a new playground is over $40000. Shockingly, the Ministry of Education does not fund playgrounds for its schools, so we as a community need to fund this ourselves. We will be able to transfer the new slide to the new playground, so it won't be wasted.
Through various events and hard graft obtaining some grants we have managed to raise $30000, we still have $10000 left to go. Time is running out now, not only are more bits having to be removed but our grants are going to start being taken back if we do not spend them by the 16th August. We are really running out of time now! Please look at our facebook page to see what we have done so far, to raise $30000 since February is a huge achievement for such a little school, but we need more help. We are only a small decile 4 school which means, sadly, we do not have a huge pot of cash or funding to help us out and our parents and stakeholders are not well off.
Linden School has many supporters in the community, but we need financial help... any amount will be greatly appreciated.
